some teams may have pitchers that can work with the shift and pitch accordingly to any given hitter, but LSU is not one of those teams.

This is such a lazy take to me. Rules are in every sport to make the game more exciting(more offense typically).

Just in general, I'm opposed to adding these types of rules, in any sport.

If I grew up and the game had "always" been played a certain way, same rules, then leave it that way. I hate the NFL's kickoff, I don't like how solid high-impact tackles (once a highlight) have been penalized.

In baseball, the positioning was always just optional.... you need a catcher, you need infielders close to bags to allow for outs, you otherwise spread guys around to cover the field.

Look at those late-game situations where the outfield plays in; guys play shallow enough that they can make a play at the plate. If it's over their heads, game over... but if they couldn't throw the runner out, it's over anyway.
Look at infielders crashing down on bunts, there have been times the first baseman is closer to home plate than first base.

If you take away the shift, you have to take that away, too. I mean, there's no real difference, other than it happens more.

I bet you hated it when they made dribbling legal in basketball and the forward pass legal in football too. Damn leagues shilling for offense like always.

and in basketball added the 3 pointer to aid the offense and in the pros outlawed the zone.

90% of the people who complain about the shift will not bother reading this.

And 100% of them wouldn't understand it if they did read it.

Analytics and info should be part of a strategy. They shouldn’t be the strategy.

The fundamental baseball we used to see is gone.

It’s all about launch angle
Exit speed
Spin rate
Velo
Catchers trying to defend on one knee.

None of it is team oriented or group driven, it’s all about individual stats and me, me, me.

And I bet you hated watching Paul Skenes pitch on Friday nights. Oh boy such an educated comparison. Just admit you're too shallow to understand the details of the sport and we can move on.

And somehow views have gone up tremendously since the introduction of the BBCOR bat. Really throws a wrench in this entire more runs = more views argument.
