It is technically called USC...you call it whatever you want, but I call it USC. I try no to refer to the California USC

I don't even get why you would even post about Southern California. Other than completely being stupid, I don't see the point in that comment.

Kindly also convey to the people in Columbia and Clemson that there but one and only one Death Valley -- and it is in BR.

If they named it Death Valley...then I guess there is more than one. Just like there is more than one USC.

Does LSU technically own the name?

Probably didn't want to lose a year of eligibility.

If you transfer to a "bigger school" (1-AA to 1-A for example) you have to sit out a year and lose that year of eligibility.

name a few small school starters......(i.e. Southern Miss is D-IA (not small school))

The only non I-A starter at QB I can think of off the top of my head right now is Tony Romo. There might be somebody else but I don't follow the NFL as closely as I used to.

Historically, though, some non I-A or non I (before I-AA was formed) starters include Terry Bradshaw, Phil Sims, Doug Williams, Stan Humphries, Bobby Hebert, Steve McNair, Kurt Warner, Ken Anderson, Rich Gannon, and Ron Jaworski. That's off the top of my head. I'm sure I could come up wth more if I researched it.

In another thread I put up players at other positoins that played at "small" schools. Players like Walter Payton and Jerry Rice. One I can think of that's important to a local pro team is Marques Colston.

Charlie Joiner, Darrel Green, Jerimiah Trotter, Gary Reasons, Marc Duper, Mel Blount, Willie Brown, Willie Lanier, Anais Williams....

I'm sure I could keep going. Sure, the overwhelming majority of NFL players come from "major" schools. But a large number of very good, even hall of fame type players have come from "small" schools.

They played at those small schools for a variety of reasons. But nobody should be shocked at finding an outstanding football player playing at a small school.

As far as Edwards goes...he's small but he is a great athlete who fits what App State does. I think you could probably stick him into West Virgina's or Oregon's offense and he'd do an outstanding job.

But he's not an NFL type quarterback so my quess is you'll never see him playing that position at that level.

Doesn't mean he isn't real dangerous in college though. Remember Tommy Frazier at Nebraska? The fact that he wasn't an "NFL-type" quarterback was little comfort to the 1995-1996 Florida team.

Armanti Edwards
i agree that he is talented enough to play D-1, but the mich game was just one game against a D-1 school. what if he had to play 12 games a year against these powerhouses at 175lbs.

people question how long tebow can do it... hes as big as a linebacker.

i would question armanti's durability. if he does to lsu what he did to mich, then i might be convinced.

I dont think you will find many APP fans that will say we can compete week to week with teams in the BCS...One game, yes...12 game season, not right now

If the goal is to get recognized in college, he accomplished that w/o having to jump in the big pond. Anybody who follows college football knows this guy. Instead of transferring to a 1A school why not just run up ridiculous numbers at a 1AA school. App. St usually plays one or two 1A's a year which gives him an opportunity to prove he is legit.

I'd say the guy made a pretty good decision he has a couple of national championships and a win at Michigan to show for it. On top of that he has a chance to play on Sundays (even if its not as a QB).
