But I get it, in LSU's run-oriented offense 184 yards passing is a good day.

It is a fricking stellar day. Jefferson throws for 184 and people may start making Peyton Manning comparisons

Should be one hell of a game. I agree with the poster a few spots above me too, LSU is no doubt going to try and control the clock in this one. The hogs WILL get their passing yards, if we can control the clock and limit their opportunities though, I like our chances.

its all about ball control. the hogs rushing d sucks, our defense will stuff the run and will create turnovers . Miles will physically run the ball down arky's throats.

Yup. I think the game comes down to whether our defensive line can be strong enough to put LSU in some 3rd and mediums and hold LSU to FG's instead of TD's, and whether Wilson can make big plays while also avoiding costly turnovers. If Wilson plays lights out and doesn't throw a pick-6 or an interception on his side of the field, and if our defense can hold LSU to less than 5 yards per carry, then we have a chance. If not, LSU should have the game in hand by the 4th quarter.

If the unexpected happens...I expect Sheek to not make it into next weekend

184 yards is not that impressive to a fan who routinely watches his team's QB throw for 300+.

What's your point? Okie St throws for 400 a game and that doesn't matter. Running and defense wins championships. Sorry if you don't think that's true.

IMO, we're analyzing this game way too much.

-Short week
-LSU/Arkansas game
-Winner SHOULD punch a ticket to NO

Crazy shite will happen. I wouldn't be surprised to see Arkansas hold us to 50 yards rushing, JJ to throw for 300, Wilson struggles to hit 45% passing, Arkansas runs for 250, and both teams run a no-huddle/hurry-up form of the Maryland-I the entire 2nd half. This game always seems to be quirky

My point was that I'd be more afraid of Lee under center than Jefferson, and I cited Jefferson's game against Arkansas last year to support that belief. Someone then threw out Jefferson's passing #'s against Arkansas from last season; while those may be good numbers for LSU's offense, it still only resulted in only 23 points and a loss. LSU will have to score more than 23 to beat Arkansas this year IMO.

It will depend on what kind of game develops. LSU may not need to throw the ball a lot.

And the reason we lost is because Davis ran wild on us, and Karnell Hatcher decleated Claiborne on a fluke play, then missed a kill shot on a Cover 2 which resulted in another 80 yard touchdown on the sideline. We didn't lose because of passing numbers.

Honey badger has been quiet lately... too quiet. I'm foreseeing a great game from him and the rest of the LSU secondary.

Jon, I remember that we picked up 165 yds. passing on 2 plays vs. the Tigers last year. Any chance we can improve that avg. per catch?

Yep, And Arky's O-line was really good, too. They controlled the line, esp. late, running the ball. That won't happen, this year. Whole sea-change on the lines.

LSU's offense also had to settle for 4 field goal attempts when yall needed a TD.

Ok? You could say we didn't run the ball as well as we should have? That isn't directly correlated to passing. And like I've stated, if our BACKUP middle linebacker wasn't playing safety last year we win that game.

True, but I think Lee makes your power run game better. With Jefferson in there, we can stack the line, and blitz him when he's in shotgun. With Lee under center, we will always have to respect the play-action game.

I remember watching LSU's offense against Oregon and thinking that was the perfect offense. Arky's defense is a lot more like Oregon's than like Bama's. Our defense can run side to side with Jefferson all day, but we are vulnerable to the power run and to getting beat in one-on-one coverage down the field.

If Petrino was more of an a-hole and had punched it in from the half yard line, we would have won 38-23.

I'm really not sure what that means? But ok, doesn't change the point about our terrible safety last year.
