With all the hype surrounding this kid from the awards, the rankings, the way the coaches and upperclassmen talk about him. I’m all in just wondering what everyone thinks he’s going to do this season.

I think in 10 to hopefully 13 games he’ll have 50-60 recs, 700 yds and 8 tds

If he gets 700yds and 8TDs, that would be better numbers than OJ Howard’s best season at Alabama. Also would one of the highest producing TE seasons for a true freshman all time.

I think if he gets 500yds and 5 TDs he would be Freshman All American

What?

That would break every single season record for LSU TEs. Hell, that might break some career records. Y’all need to chill on this. We’ve got probably the best receiver in LSU history AND another 1st rounder in Marshall that was actually ranked higher than Chase coming out. With a 1st year starting QB and a likelihood of running the ball more. Not to mention 2 less regular season games. I’m not saying Gilbert can’t put up those numbers. Just that if he did, it would be an incredible, all-time season for a TE in CFB history. To EXPECT that is insane.

I’ll admit the yardage is high but don’t think he can get 7 or 8 tds in 10-13 games? Also who do u think has more hype Coming as a freshmen Stingley or Gilbert

Stingley was probably more expected because when he showed up for bowl practice in 2018, they were already saying he was the best CB on the field.

The difference is we’ve had elite 5-star CBs in the past but we’ve never signed a player like Gilbert. His measurables and the fact that he’s a TE makes him more of an anomaly since we’ve never had a recruit like that before.

He may be the best athlete on the team and the easiest target for MB so I’d guess 10 targets/game with 5-6 catches. Tigatron

Bro I think he balls out but how do think he has 59-60 catches when we would likely have chase, Marshall and mcmath on the field at same time. I think mcmath could be the 2nd best WR on the field this year... All three of those guys are ready to eat and their time is now.

Plus we have palmer, boutte and another guy that will get snaps in Taylor...

I don't think there is a way he gets 60 catches I hope Im wrong.
