Lost in the Offensive revival we are experiencing is that it’s absolutely unacceptable to have a front 7 this below average at LSU... EVER. Seems to be a combination of a few factors, but you start with the talent of the players out there and then immediately move to coaching (recruiting, development, and mentality).

It’s true. Even Dinardo had studs up front.

Yes, easily arguable. There have been some bad ones, and this ain't one of them.

In one of your posts you said we have an offense that makes the defense irrelevant. You sir are an idiot.

That’s what happens when you accept transfers from Texas tech, you know you’re in trouble.

This is absolutely crap.

Am I very frustrated with our defensive performance from several games this year? Without a question, yes.

Talent is there, they’ve been playing like crap though. I counted at least 15 plays last night where Queen/Delpit/Stevens were way out of position because they took the bait and took a wrong step or two.

You can’t say those guys are horrible. They just played like shite.

Also, don’t know if you noticed, but this D isn’t exactly built at getting a ton of pressure on the opposing teams’ qb.

Delpit isn’t considered “Front 7” he plays safety. I never said our guys are horrible. And yes, I have noticed that we can’t get consistent pressure on the QB against anyone we’ve played this year, it handcuffs the DC no doubt in what he can call and what he would have confidence in calling.

Alabama gave up 31 and 476 yards to Ole Miss. Ole Miss rushed for 279 to Alabama's 155. Just saying.

Touche'
I get it, not easily arguable without statistics and naming names. I believe this front seven to be average, but not the worst. Certainly not among the better ones either, but having been a fan since the 60s, I have seen worse often enough.

Why are we comparing what Bama did to what we did? Bama won’t have to play OSU or Clemson in a couple months.

Arguably, your post and this thread are one of the dumbest posts and thread topics in the past 25 years.

The problem last night had nothing to do with the front 7 being good or bad. Instead, it had to do with preparation or more accurately, lack thereof.

As Ole Miss, in essence, morphed into a triple-option team last night in the second half and because our defense hadn't been prepared to face a triple-option offense as it had been for the Georgia Southern game, it wasn't prepared to stop Plumlee and those two other running backs.

No big deal cause there are no other teams we will face that are remotely like Ole Miss for the remainder of the year.

How many pros are in that front 7? Some are saying the entire starting 11 will play in the NFL.

So the Front 7 was great before last night? Got it.
