Are you "fans" delusional? Do you seriously follow LSU basketball?

Or do most of you just rush on here after watching the news and seeing that we lost tonight?
I will say this until I am blue in the face...bitching now it pointless. Wait until the season is over to grade the progress and direction of this program!
The talent is improving. If you can't see that you don't know basketball or you just don't seriously follow this team.
I understand some of you will never like Trent Johnson, but the fact is he as only had 2 really bad seasons at LSU while trying to completely rebuild a program from the ground up. This season is not over!
We have a chance to finish around .500 in the SEC which is a huge improvement. Then we can get even better next year.
All the negative talk about Trent Johnson is not gonna do anything but hurt the program right now. Can't figure out why some of you "fans" don't seem to comprehend that.

Switch the basketball success with football success and how would you grade it then?

The same way if the football program was being completely rebuilt. I look at progress and which way the direction of the program is going. It doesn't happen overnight.

we have 3 guys who can play and 1 who is decent. Then we have Stringer, Ludwig, Courtney, and Isaac (for next season) We have Morgan coming in and no one else as of now. We are out-talented almost every time we step on the floor. BUT, talent isn't even the biggest issue right now. Coaching is. They turn it over way too much and have poor shot selection. They lack any look of an offense. Its stagnant and no one moves. The post players can't catch and no one can pass.

Two really bad seasons and an average season(if we get there) is nothing to write home about.

Huge basketball fan. I understand he came into a tough situation. But my problem is his teams lack fundamentals, terrible shot selection, and low basketball IQ's. I don't see any kind of offensive strategy from TJ

Trent's MO is supposed to be good D and rebounding. We've yet to show that for the most part in league play.

You can't look at it as a "body of work" in that sense. Look at the direction. I'll take average right now. I won't take average next season though.

What have you seen that makes you think the program is improving?

What I saw tonight was an undisciplined team. Trent has got to get these guys passing and catching better, rebounding, and playing D. The basics are abysmal with this group for having a little bit of talent.

I watch every game and I see it. The talent right now is the best it's been in 3 years. We beat Marquette and nearly Virginia, and are much much more competitive than last season.

not hard to accomplish but he's not bringing in enough of it to be successful. Next year you lose your best back up post player and best back up PG and we haven't recruited anyone to replace them.

This team's foundation still is not built on solid rock though. Trent absolutely needs to find some good bigs in this class if he wants to continue his longterm steady build.

I watch every game too. What I saw tonight, the auburn game, @Arkansas, @state, was evidence that it is not improving. Beating Marquette was great, it was a great win, but is that the only game TJ can hang his hat on in the past 3 seasons?!?

Next year is going to be like Brady ball all over. 1-5 that can compete but when the bench comes in the game is over.

I agree with this. Trent's, nothing against the man, but in his time here he's regressed.
The lack of discipline and preparation this season is ridiculous. We did get Hickey but when the basketball program can't even fill all the spots for new recruits, something's wrong.
I've never thought of LSU as a basketball powerhouse, like Duke, UNC, UCONN, but we've been close. Real close.
This is ridiculous. What's it going to take to get something done? Finish last? Wait, we already did that.
I'm not calling for the man's head but something needs to be addressed.

That depends, does Turner want to actually play and whatever happens at the 2 between Stringer/Issac/Morgan.

The offense this teams runs is slightly more organized than what you see at the rec center. That's absolutely ridiculous, and it shouldn't take 5 years to rebuild a basketball team, this isn't football, all you need is a couple of impact players. 13 scholarships, not 85.

Kind of. The coaching, however, is not.
