Many people either gain or lose weight after surgery, you cannot perform many football related exercises after shoulder surgery. Even with a minor shoulder separation it’s a pain to even attempt cardio. What ever your opinion is of the kid, he rushed back to the team to help. His body was not ready and it showed on the field.

You do realize that many other players have shoulder injuries and somehow manage not to come back fat and lazy.
