Coach Ed Orgeron @Coach_EdOrgeron I’m very happy to report Dave Aranda has agreed to be with our program for years to come. Thanks to Joe Alleva, Dr. Alexander and the board of supervisors for their support in making this happen. Geaux Tigers.
In order to keep Aranda at LSU, following his pursuit by Tx A&M, LSU signed Aranda to a 4 year $10 million fully guaranteed contract.
After December 1, 2019 there is no buyout remaining on said contract.

Doubt aranda leaves until after the season. Can't believe he will just leave the players behind

Certainly can't blame him for seeking a HC job..but UNLV? and now?? Right at the start of a run at the Nattie??

The expired buyout that was in the contract was only for him becoming a non-head coach elsewhere.
quote:
Aranda's buyout is 40 percent of his remaining salary if he accepts a non-head coaching position within 500 miles of Baton Rouge and 15 percent if outside of 500 miles - a normal provision in assistant coaches' contract at LSU. After Dec. 1, 2019, there is no buyout provision, the statement said. There is also no buyout if he were to leave for a head coaching position.

As a former college player I personally would not want a coach that's leaving me to continue coaching. To me it would be impossible for said coach to input his whole heart into the remaining season.
Let someone who intends to stuck with our players and program take over.
He was paid for a job and wants to discuss other openings while going into the cfb playoffs? As if it couldn't wait ?
Leave or be relieved

There is no buyouts on head coaching jobs.

I posted a quote that stated that. His contract NEVER had a buyout to becoming a HC, just for lateral moves. That buyout expired Dec 1, 2019. Meaning Aranda can now leave anytime for any position and there is no buyout.

Well that was a shitty contract for LSU?

It was constructed to be friendly for Aranda for a reason
LSU fully supportive of him stepping up in position
Not ok with him taking another DC position

So who the frick is going to call plays against Clemson? Coach O? He is your best bet to win the title calling defensive plays. Not fricking coach O or anyone else on staff

Bill Busch if it gets to that point. Aranda's not gone anywhere just yet, and a breaking news report saying he's not likely for UNLV.

Bring back Peveto to fill in in the natty.

Don't forget Doug Mallory. Peveto was just a Co-def Coordinator. No way Jimbo lets his ace recruiter return to the Bayou State.
Note: Mallory is the DB coach of the Atlanta Falcons
