This year will be Aranda’s best defense at LSU and possibly the best since 2011. The front 7 is light years ahead of any he has had thus far both in talent and depth. The secondary is comparable to past years. He finally has enough quality linebackers to run his scheme. The rest of the country is in for a big surprise come Labor Day weekend!

A key focus to both trenches is something to be thankful for

Agree with everything but the secondary. Greedy is up there with the best, but behind him is a whole lot of unknown.

I’m excited about two things.
-Burrow
-Defense

I can’t wait for practice to start and hear how both of these things look.

Although definitely true, LSU always seems to have talented guys that step in and play good whenever anyone gets hurt in the secondary. The secondary won't have to be as good this year because the D-line and linebacker play should have the opposing QB trying to get rid of the ball fast.

BTW a good front 7 always helps the secondary!

Agree.

I think we have some guys ready to make an impact in the secondary.

Both units will help each other out. Getting pressure will help with young guys and their coverage. If the coverage is there, I think our sack totals will increase this year with that front 7.

This is not even remotely truthful

Go watch 2013 tape on our secondary at the beginning and middle of the season.

Tell me where I’m wrong? 2016 was better but not that much better.

2016 had 2 first round picks, a second round pick and The 2 first rounders had a 4th year starter and a 3rd year starter. How is having greedy make this remotely similar to 2016?

Depth at CB might be an issue if we have injuries but our front line players are as good as it gets. And Delpit, Battle, Monroe, and even Stevens at Safety more than make up for lack of depth at CB. Not to mention having a top rated DB in Kelvin Joseph. I think the front 7 also take pressure off of the secondary.

The secondary can be good if someone emerges opposite of Greedy. I'm really hoping that Jacoby Stevens runs up the depth chart at S.

You must not know how football works. Safety and corner are 2 separate positions. What make a corner great are not the same qualities of a great safety.
