We have inexperienced QB's while App St has a proven vet. I'll wait until 8/30 before declaring who is better.

To me there is basically no difference between div 1 AA and Div II. I am sure the talent is different, but to me if your not D1A your div II

bc he is busy winning three national championships in a row (maybe 4). AE is better than lsu's quarterbacks and is a unique talent better than many 1a qbs

I'm saying AE's done nothing to prove he's better on a D1 level.

I'd say he has. He has beaten a D1 team, which is more than either Hatch or Lee could say. The reason he is playing 1-AA ball is probably that he was not a sought after recruit in high school and was clearly underestimated by bigger schools. If you don't think this guy is a great player, than you're crazy. Hatch started his career at Harvard, and I know Appy St would run a train on Harvard. But since Hatch is at LSU now, does that make him so much better? If you had your choice of Edwards transfering to LSU or some freshman from Harvard, who would you take?

If that is the case, then he would be playing in D1A. That is all I am saying. I am not saying he is good, but if they didn't beat Michigan last year, you wouldn't even know who he was. Not you specifically, the general public.

Never occured to you that he wasn't nearly the talent he is now when he was coming out of high school? He is like all the other great 1-AA players through the years who wasn't a big time recruit and didn't transfer because he would lose a year of eligibility.

Why didn't Walter Payton play 1A ball? How about Jerry Rice? Who knows why certain players don't get offers to 1A schools? In Edwards case, it was likely his size ... he didn't fit the profile of the prototypical D1 QB. Doesn't mean he's not talented. I view him as a lighter Pat White (of course many didn't think he could make it as a D1 QB either!). Is he better than Lee or Hatch? Only time will tell, but he definitely has better college credentials TODAY.

no net necessarily. because in 1AA he has the opportunity to win national championships and do things that he may not get to do at the 1A level

Once again, just in case you missed out.

So how does how many people "know" him affect whethers he's going to be the best QB on the field again?

This from a North Carolina Fan....

Ok so your Tarheels have admitted dodging App State. So the team you pull for is scared of scheduling a Division II school.

Also the Tarheels lost on HOMECOMING a few years back 28-3 to a I-AA school(but according to you they also should be classified as Div II)

BOOM! Not to mention, even if he didn't beat Michigan, more people around the country would probably have heard his name than Hatch or Lee.

No one would know who he is, so no one would be defending a 1AA QB over a guys who are 1-2 on the depth chart of a BCS school.
