They won't pick a CBS game unless it is a premier match up. This is a big game, but it's not big enough to get them there when there are other big time games.

Probably because their crew is already calling the Ohio State-TCU game.

Also they'll have other opportunities to hit up Auburn this year.

Both LSU & Auburn have big matchups (UGA & Bama) later in the season... they're probably holding off for those games.

I feel like they didn't used to be this bad about it. ESPN really is going downhill.

this, they don't want to go to the same place more than once

I don't think they were in the past. Competition pressure is greater now than it used to be, and it's just the culture now in our country. Much like politics, if you're not me, you're my enemy and need to die.

They went to Alabama 4 times in 2 years a couple years ago.

The pick is no surprise. They were at an SEC venue last week (A&M) and expect to see Auburn against Georgia or Alabama. The network preference thing is outdated - NBC carried Michigan @ Notre Dame in the opener, yet they were in South Bend.

You will see Gameday in Baton Rouge on October 13 if LSU has fewer than 2 losses. That game will be on CBS. So will the 2-3 Alabama games where Gameday will be held later this season.

Went to A&M last week. I guess they have to avoid back to back SEC this early in the season because it’s likely going to happen down the stretch.
