Anyone else trying to not over react after all the positives?

Me :raises hand:

But it’s because I worry all the time, no matter how good the team is.

I know we’ve got studs everywhere; LSU has more pure talent than almost any other team in football, and the coaching staff appears to be doing a phenomenal job.

But I worry anyway:

-- Whether the team will have their heads in the game, this (or any other) week. There’s nothing wrong with swagger, but too much of it will -- sooner or later -- jump up and bite you in the arse.

-- Games get harder & harder as the season progresses, not because of increasingly better opposition (although there is some of that to deal with), but because with each game, there’s more & more video for the next opponent to look at, and analyze for vulnerabilities.

>> An imaginative opposing coach can confect some unpleasant novelties.
>> To be fair, Joe Brady & CSE seem to have some of their own unpleasant novelties, for opposing defenses . . .

-- But the scariest thing of all (for me, anyway): Historically, the closer we get to an undefeated season (and/or the tougher the opponent), the greater the tendency for the OC to call the next game to AVOID LOSING -- Arkansas 2007 comes to mind -- instead of to curb-stomp the opposition.

This apparent new attitude, this season, is a huge relief.

Now, I’ve been wrong lots of times -- I was scared shiteless, all of 2003 & 2007, but there are a couple of crystal footballs in the trophy room, anyway.

I'm always worried, no matter what any experts predict.

GASU was a delightful tune-up game, but I maintain my standard wait-and-see attitude.

I believe that we’ll all have a much better handle on this year’s team after this weekend.

But if our Tigers win by => 3 TDs, I may drink me some Kool-Aid.

At some point, we're just going to have to have two boards as having conversations with you guys has become impossible.

Many of you guys did this exact same thing LAST YEAR when most of us who were critical of the staff refused to take the bait and declare 6-6 seasons and instead started suggesting 9-3 or better after an entire off season of you guys telling us how great we'd be. Talking point then? Why...we were only doing that so that if the team failed to reach those heights we could complain about them! So...if we predicted something bad, we're negative and if we predict something good we're lying.

It might be easier of you just told us what we think, and then you could argue against that and we could just sit here refreshing the thread to see how we do.

FWIW, Damone is clearly fricking with you guys...and it's pretty funny, considering all the shite he was taking for being mean.

You score 42 points on any team in the first half, it's refreshing especially when you didnt do that one game last season to anyone. It's hard to not have a great outlook for the season. I just wish Vegas had more of us losing games so we can get that same underdog hype we had from last season. We should expect to beat the snot out of one very undersized and less talented team from a garbage conference. That win in no shape or form has shown me things will be dramatically different when we go on the road to Bama. The UT game will. We have a long road ahead of us and we know being in the SEC that we have to take each game serious

What the hell are you talking about?

Are you even enjoying what's going on right now? What agenda are you worried about, the one where people are happy for LSU football?

you really are that dumb

Ever since O was hired those 2 and you have said he is the wrong man for the job he should have never been hired and he can't and will not ever bring us a championship...after 1 game they have changed their tune to this is our year we should win it all. Either they are too dumb to realize what they have bitched about for 2 years or you're too dumb to realize what they are doing. It's much more likely we don't win it all and by saying we should they are laying the foundation to bitch if we don't.

aka Les offense

Ed has gone conservative in our big games. We've seen it against ND, Auburn, Florida, Tamu and Bama.

He needs to not go into a shell like he's proven to do time and time again.

I think people have a right to still be thinking, can they actually do this?

We were high flying when he got the interim then came zero points.

Nah, Texas could be a tough game but I think the offens is for real.

Just go game by gameand enjoy the hell out of it. Overanalyzing stuff will make it less enjoyable

You are spot on with this take. It's the biggest thing Im worried about is a team going one score up on us and then O going back to the old offense.

It's like he copied and pasted what I said earlier about what they claimed last year...

In short...just stop posting, as there is no ground you can hold without some of these guys bitching about it.

FWIW, I haven't seen anyone but Damone, who again is just fricking with them after being banned, who was skeptical but are now suggesting it's hardware a plenty after beating up on Ga Southern. Most just seem pleasantly surprised that the offense really is different and effective and are hopeful it continues.

during halftime, on Saturday I was reading all the tweets about the stats and how they looked last year and comparing them to the first half of play and all I could do is remind myself, "it's only Georgia Southern...it's only Georgia Southern."

I'm excited, I'm optimistic, but I'm also reserving all the optimism until we hit conference play. we're supposed to demolish teams like Ga. Southern, Northwestern St., and Utah State.

I'll feel better if we see more of the same against Texas, Vandy, and Florida. If we come out strong and guns blazing against real competition, then the reservations go away.

Right now, I'm having fun remembering Saturday and hoping we cock slap UT this week.

Did he win a championship last week?

I've been saying for some time that I see one loss on this schedule. After seeing that offense I don't even think that loss is a given anymore but I'd still say Bama wins that game.

Even if someone does think that we can win the championship and they didn't before, that's ok. Reasonable people change their minds as evidence changes. I know you stick to an idea no matter what so that may be why you're having such a tough time right now. Just enjoy the season brother and stop thinking about these things.
