But most of you would want to throw Yeldon under the jail and would think Saban doesn't have an ethical bone in his body because of it.
Why ? Because Yeldon would have gotten a BJ from a freshman in "HIGH SCHOOL" while he was a senior? Or
would it be because Yeldon punched a guy who didnt know
how to shut his drunk mouth in the parking lot of a bar?
If you really believe that anyone should be " Thrown Under The Jail" for this then you need help. Talk about being honest.
YOU BE HONEST!!!

3 game suspension will satisfy me, and may teach this young man some respect.

I AM BEING HONEST. AND IN ALL CAPS WITH EXTRA EXCLAMATION POINTS !!!
Kid got himself on probation. He was allowed on the team with that already against him. He violated his probation.
To me, he should miss games, period. Kids want to play in games. Missing games should be his punishment. No way he should play against TCU and that message needs to be out there now and not as a game-day decision Aug. 30 so TCU's left guessing. Frick that, send the message now that knucklehead-ism has a price beyond not having to lift weights with your teammates over the summer (boy, that must have been tough on him).
I suspect Miles will suspend him for the TCU game and he should. But he should make that clear now. Say he's suspended and say why.
I'm not for him being dismissed or anything like that. He didn't do enough to deserve that. But he did enough to face a serious consequence.
Let me ask you this: Did Mettenberger deserve what happened to him at Georgia? He did less than Hill.

Let's change Miles to "Saban." Let's change "Hill" to (name an Alabama star who gets in hypothetical legal trouble). And let's change TCU to LSU.
You'd be at the front of the line in outrage.
Lots of hypocrisy going on on this thread. There are plenty who would be outraged if the shoe was on the other foot. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are some on here who would be equally OK with it if we were talking about Saban and TJ Yeldon. (and I'd still disagree with you).
But most of you would want to throw Yeldon under the jail and would think Saban doesn't have an ethical bone in his body because of it.
C'mon, admit it. You know it's true.
I'll copy and paste my answer to essentially this same question from an earlier thread...

I wouldn't, but then I'm intellectually consistent in the stances I take. Your mileage may vary. From a competition standpoint, I'd find it funny if an opposing team's player got in trouble, but I certainly would not be morally outraged about it. I'd also like to think that if I knew as much about that situation as we do about this one, I'd see it for what it was...a very minor incident.

The punk should have been kicked off the team. LSU doesn't deserve or need a kid like this representing it.
I lost a great deal of respect for Miles for his handling of the JJ crap two years ago and for allowing a reported 10+ positive drug tests for the HB before dealing with it. This incident only seals the deal for him. He allowed the team to vote on whether Hill returns or not rather than take control of the our of control players on the team
What the hell do we pay this guy millions for?
It's embarrassing!

His legal probation, and that has now been addressed by the legal system.

Feel free to let Les know this. I'm sure he's taking all of this under advisement.

frick no he didn't deserve what he got in Georgia, and what is your deal with needing to know NOW if Miles is gonna suspend him. What is your affiliation with LSU, this team, with Hill, with miles,etc....? Why do you feel that Miles needs to adhere to YOUR timetable?
I'm sorry that even responded to you,and a coup,e of other idiots in this thread. You "Perfect Citizens" are what's right in this world. It's fans like you that make us all proud.

I disagree. I liked that he lets the legal system play out and doesn't act based on the original charge (big difference between what Miles did and what happened with Crowell, who was booted from Georgia's team only to see the charges against him dropped...so why exactly did Georgia boot him?).
I had no problem with Jefferson getting "time served," so to speak, when he was cleared legally, thus allowing him to rejoin the team immediately. I like that he treated Mathieu as an addict that needed help rather than just kicking him to the curb.
I have no problem with any of that. But Hill should miss games and that message should be sent loud and clear.

Why does everyone forget what happened to TM7? Obviously, the whole "only worried about winning" theory is garbage. Let the man do his job.

I'm in the "lose some respect" camp.
Hill should be in a jailhouse somewhere, not on LSU's proud playing fields.

Of all the idiotic sentences in this post, this one takes the cake. Are you seriously suggesting that Miles did not make this decision, and left it up to the team? Seriously? Or would it stand to reason that Miles had decided to take him back, and wanted to make sure the team was on board with that decision?
Look...I realize when these occasional situations come up it makes for juicy fodder for all you guys that have had a hard-on for Miles' departure since the 2005 Tennessee home game, but at some point you're going to need to move on.

Winning games, which is what he's doing at a clip never before seen at LSU.

It's embarrassing!
LSU's own fans self-righteously suggesting Miles ought to kick a guy off the team for something they had blown Eric Andolsek for back in the mid 80's sure is embarrassing...

For one punch resulting in a misdemeanor?

BS!
Being arrested, suspended, taken to court, made to pay medical bills, and placed on probation for throwing one punch in a bar room brawl is not getting off light no matter who the player is or where he plays.
Hill fricked up, but lets get real. There are punches throw every fricking weekend in cities having a campus or not having a campus all across this country.
You guys trying to blow this up to some terrible act that needs even more punishment are some self righteous clowns.

Yes,he was in a fight. Stay out of bars, etc. There are always idiot fans who want to provoke a "name person" to show their toughness(?) while hiding behind the fact the athlete won't hurt them because they have too much to lose. Remember the former & successful Michigan coach - Gary Muelller? He had his family in a restaurant & was embarrassed & ridiculed by a Michigan fan. He decked the guy & was fired. In brief these guys need to be able to have some leeway. Was Hill wrong - yes! It shows that young men need help to stay on the NCAA "straight & narrow" or they (idiots) will play "Big Brother" & make an athlete's life worthless

Not an ounce... needs to work his way back but lets get started.

Grow up, dude. Division One College Football is a business and it's all about the business of winning. You do what you have to do to win. Hill gives you a better chance of doing that. If you can't handle this reality, maybe you'd be happier pulling for Slippery Rock or some such.
