keeping it in the SEC is gay, doesnt help LSU one bit.
I can see you, like many on this board do not know how the BCS works. The love shown to SEC schools in recent years in all the polls but especially in the BCS is directly related to the perceived strength of the conference. It most definitely is good for any SEC school that finds itself in the midst of a good season when the BCS ratings come out. Auburn's vault passed everyone after defeating LSU is just another example of the respect given the SEC. FWIW had LSU won Saturday they likely would have climbed from 6th to 2nd, and possibly even to number one. The SEC matters a lot.

So the SEC's 8 national titles in the last 20 years -- with titles by 4 different schools -- mean nothing.
Why do you think the SEC has the best TV contracts and is nationally broadcast by CBS and ESPN? Other conferences like the Big 10, Big 12 and Pac 10 have to settle for regional coverage. Could it be because the SEC is so loaded and delivers with multiple top 10 teams and almost always being in the hunt for the national title?
Not to mention all the extra revenue every school in the league receives when a SEC team makes a high paying bowl game.

As a bunch of Oregon homers found out this week.

SEC baby! I love to see SEC teams devastate other conference teams so badly the opposing teams genuinely talk about how much nicer things would be in the FCS.

There is no way I can pull for Bama even in squash.

Really no benefit at all for LSU if our competitors rack up big game wins - not when we're recruiting against them

all I hope is that Oregon graduates A LOT OF PLAYERS this year, or that we get a lot better by next....
pulling for the SEC is a 2 edge sword..
it helps us in that if an SEC team wins, a "one loss" SEC team is considered very strong still, it hurts in that we have to recruit against them. (whoever)

They have 23 seniors on their roster. Not all of them are starters.
I live near Eugene and am rooting for the Ducks to go all the way. They are my second favorite team behind the Tigers. I can't wait for next year when they get to play LSU.

I can't see many scenarios where I'd root for the Ducks. If they play AU, I'm rooting for them: they'd be the 4th different SEC school to win it all in the past 5 years plus they got screwed. If it's Oregon versus Boise, I'd actually root for the smurfs because of the bawwing and butthurt it would cause the BCS.
Now, if it's Oregon against somebody from BigXII or BigTen, then I'll cheer for the ducks.

Would you rather start off next season playing the defending national champions in Cowboys Stadium, or just keep the championship in the SEC?
Yeah. I'm all Oregon, unless LSU, by some miracle, gets back in it. Anything to shut up Boise.

Only EVER is if the Iron Bowl has a factor in LSU's fate, and then, when I dutifully cheer for an Auburn loss, my heart is never in it.
The annual Bama-Ole Miss is very confounding for me, because, now that there are no ties, there can be no fully satisfactory result. The closest would be if the winning team leaves with lots of key injuries, but it still means Ole Miss or Bama won a football game.
