re: Tradition at Oregon?

They have traditions at Oregon. That basketball arena is brand new. The frist game played in it was last night. The old arena (Mac Court) has been around for ages. It was a cool place to see a game but it was really too small.

Casey Matthews on defense and Jeff Maehl on offense are big losses for Oregon.

BCS Rankings

I see a lot of posts here bashing Oregon, Boise and TCU. Some think they don't deserve their ranking given their schedule.

Who would you rank as the top 5 teams this year?
Oregon has 22 seniors on their roster. Some of them are not starters.
The PAC 10 invited Boise but they turned it down.

Last year they had a different QB - it was Masoli who is now at Ole Miss.
They have 23 seniors on their roster. Not all of them are starters.

I live near Eugene and am rooting for the Ducks to go all the way. They are my second favorite team behind the Tigers. I can't wait for next year when they get to play LSU.
You spelled conference wrong.

I cook my ribs in the oven for a couple of hours over low heat then put them on the grill for 30 minutes, 15 on each side and sauce them during this time as well. I also use a rub and let the ribs come to near room temperature before applying the rub. They turn out great every time.

Palmetto's has great food and a great location. I've been to Doug's but didn't like the style of cooking as much. Not to say it was bad, but just not my preference. For steaks, you can't beat Young's. They actually have no sign out front, all business is word of mouth.

I don't understand booing your own team at all. I can understand booing a call by the coach but booing a player's performance is just horrible. Cut him some slack - he's a teenager. He's not intentionally trying to lose the game. Show him support or just be quiet.

I've had In and Out and I didn't think In and Out was that good. Haven't had five brothers though.
If the defense was off we could have lost by a very large margin. All things considered, it ain't that bad. Once we stabilize on the QB position, we'll be back up on top.

Honestly, I thought we would lose this one so I am very happy that we took it to overtime. It just itsn't our year for an NC. As always, I'm proud of the Tigers!

re: What to cook Saturday

Posted by DuckTownTiger on 10/22/08 at 10:32 pm to
Maybe try making a bunch of different appetizers.
I was at work in a meeting earlier this week and and for some reason I thought of making artichoke and garlic dip stuffed jalapeno's wrapped in bacon. Then either grill or bake. That's what I'm now cooking on Saturday.

If you don't want appetizers, try a beer can chicken or barbequed shrimp.

re: Corn and Crab Bisque

The recipe I used was from Emerill. It turned out good and I went ahead and left out the crab boil. I used his Essence for seasoning and I am glad I didn't put anything else in it because it was pretty rich without it.

It was my first time making a bisque and a blond roux. I want to try that Prejean recipe and see how that compares. I have found many of Emerill's recipes to be pretty rich. Always really good, but sometimes a little too much.

Corn and Crab Bisque

I am making corn and crab bisque today. The recipe calls for liquid crab boil. I couldn't find that at the grocery (I am in Oregon). Does anyone have suggestions for a substitute? I may just leave it out all together if I can't find a good alternative.
