Jim Nasium lived a couple doors down from me at the apartment complex I lived at when I was at LSU. That was '97 and he was REALLY sick back then. His daughter was only a couple years younger than we were and we got to know her really well. She's a sweetheart and her dad was awesome. We use to always talk to him about Tiger Tracks (which was the greatest thing ever). I hope he's doing well.

Didn't he get into some trouble involving an underaged girl?
I think that was Kenny Haselette (spelling?) from Kenny and Bob on WYNK early 90's

Kenny got in big time trouble. I think the girl was 14. Whats funny is that WYNK eventually brought him back for a while but it didn't fly. I think htat is when they brought Big D and Bubba.

without a doubt. I remember listening to WFMF all day to hear them. I even taped them so I could listen to them leading up to the game. Anyone remember the commercial with JimNasium and Randy Rice flying over BR in the chopper. Classic BR in the 80's. WFMF kicked Z98's arse!!!

I found some Rice/Nasium airchecks in the system at the radio station. It's entertaining stuff.

How about stealing them and posting on the world wide waste of time

There are a few bits and some old WFMF promos and jingles

Before he got big Simar did the pregame show on WJBO. Used to listen to him riding onto campus with my Dad. Met him in the early 90s at a press junket right after Hallman was hired. Nice guy - told him I remembered him from his WJBO days and he was surprised that I knew that he had done that.

Nasium is still alive...in fact I had the privilege of meeting him at the Sunday Auburn baseball game. He was a guest of TAF in the baseball suite that day. He was with Rice....once I figured out who he was I told him I much I used to enjoy tiger traks when I was younger. I told him that my brother and I looked forward to it the week of football games as my mom would bring us to school.
His eyes lit up and you could tell he was happy that someone remembered him. He did look like he was struggling a bit- but he was into the game.
What did Rice do to him to stab him in the back? They apperared to be close at the game in fact he took care of him the whole time.
He did mention that he was interested in doing Tiger Traks again. I would love to hear some of those old ones.

Glad he's doing well. I had also been under the impression he was gravely ill and not sure if he was still alive.
The Rice and Naz' show broke up after I left in '84. I'm tempted to make up a reason they left so someone will zoom in to correct me with the real story.
Those tracks were great, though. Coach Stovall, what are you going to do after the game Saturday ? "We're going to party, fiesta" (Lionel Ritchie and Commodores song for your youngsters
)

I had a cool bus driver in middle school and she'd rock the radio to tiger tracks in the morning.
Those were the best of times!!
Bring em back!

Yes, it was Friday mornings, if I remember correctly.
We always made sure to catch it. It had a gameday type feel to it. Just part of the pregame activities for a game weekend.
Think about it. A station would have over 20 years of untapped music to pull lines from. I wonder if they would need permission to do it.

Danny and Randy Rice were on a video broadcast last year on some station in the BR area--I saw it online. They were celebrating a 30 year anniversary as I recall. Danny (aka Gym Nasium) was seated most of the time and when he stood, was on crutches. I didn't know the reason at the time; now I do. They played audio clips of some of the shows from the 1980s, and it was great.
To answer your question, Danny was alive as of last year.

It's my fault it got bumped. I was reading the Tiger Tracks thread on the OT and Googled "Danny Simar" to confirm that's his real name. This thread came up - and I replied to it thinking it was the OT thread. I'm retarded.
