I am fine with the criticism of Daniels when it’s warranted, but the fact so many on here seem to be confident Nuss is the better player is such a head scratcher to me.

You’re confused

The issue is not that Nuss is clearly better. But rather, that Daniels is clearly limited in areas that Nuss has shown flashes.

I think most want to see Nuss just get a real shot vs some decent competition

If you judge a player based off of one pass his freshman year then idk what to tell you

You’ve made your mind up, and you’re wrong

Meaningful - “pop passes against Grambling”

Not meaningful - “SEC title game against the two time defending national champs”

This is the kind of stuff you’re dealing with.

I said that game was meaningful you dolt.

Same game where Nuss had a fumble and an INT.

Meh, I don’t, mainly because it will probably mean LSU is in a bind.

If he does play meaningful snaps, I’ll root like hell for him.

I will be the first to admit that Nuss can be careless.

Now, is some of that because he’s always in the game when it doesn’t matter, and he’s trying to make a play/do too much?

We don’t know

Need to see him in a non garbage time setting vs decent comp.

I’m not saying roll him out vs bama.

But I wouldn’t mind Kelly, at this point, telling us that he’s going to roll with 2 QBs vs, say, MSU. Or even Florida. Give them equal opp in a real game and let’s see what happens.

Their last two comparative outings.. similar situations and volume of attempts. UGA and Purdue

JD- 28/41, 68%, 347 yards, 2TDs, 1INT, 8.5ypa, 150.6 passer rating

Nuss- 26/42, 61.9%, 467 yards, 4TDs, 2INTs, 11.1ypa, 177.2 passer rating

We are in a bind

We have a lot of issues outside of QB

OL was blown up. Secondary filled with journeymen. No running game to speak of.

And, yeah, a limited QB when it comes to stretching the field and getting through his progressions.

It’s year two for Kelly. He can afford to test the waters at QB. Especially since half the fan base wants to see it happen anyways

Nuss throws a pretty ball for sure.

Jordy is the kind of guy that starts fights at a peewee game. I don’t put any stock into his opinion of major CFB.

I get the appeal of Nuss - he throws the ball deep more often than any QB I can ever remember, and some of them are very nice balls. I’m also very aware of the fact that Daniels reminds a lot of fans of Jordan Jefferson - which makes no sense based on their actual talent - so they don’t like the way he plays.

I could live with this, but I tend to give the staff the benefit of the doubt on what they’re seeing that we don’t.

The defense is not getting physically beat. When they get beat they are out of position. DEs lose contain. DT rush past RBs. LBs bite on counters. The defense is lost. It’s a mental issue with the defense right now.

Unfortunately these aren't problems that are fixed overnight.

I normally would agree, but honestly, the portal is so weird. Lot of promises are made.

I am not saying that is the case. But JD is a senior. He took a leap coming to LSU. I think it makes sense that he would be nudged to the front of the line unless he just totally frickin loses it.

Which he hasn’t. He hasn’t been terrible. He just also, well, hasn’t been good enough.

ETA I am forever grateful for the OT bama scramble

Add 60 or so rushing yards for Daniels. Also add fumble for Nuss.

So now what? I don’t see enough production from Nuss to warrant playing a guy who is turning it over 3x as often.

My biggest frustration with him was whatever the frick happened after the 3 game stretch of UF, Ole Miss, and Alabama. He was on absolute fire, and then we get that Arkansas dud. The consistency is the problem.

Well tell us when he has been given a fair shake lately ? Im talking meaningful snaps to run with the 1's . Two years ago doesnt count. He balled out in the bowl game. I saw a much improved well rounded player. Why would a great runningback want to commit here when the qb gets the majority of snaps? Same goes for wr's. These guys would love to get to the NFL as well.

I was inclined to give the staff the benefit of the doubt as well. I mean dang they’re supposed to be among the best in the profession. But after that debacle I saw against Florida State, whereby House and Denbrock and Kelly let that arse-whoopin transpire in the 2nd half, I don’t trust these mo fos as much anymore. And I haven’t forgotten about that disaster at Texas Agricultural & Mechanical either damnit! I mean who the f wins the SEC West, yet finishes the regular season at 9 & 3!!? That’s some morphodite-looking shite right there!! BUT it was Year 1 right. Then these cocksuckers show up to play Florida State unprepared mentally!? Say what!???

So much more than that. He throws open receivers and hits them in stride.

After rewatching the FSU game Daniels DID lose it by missing the throw to BTJ. You can’t expect a receiver to go full Emily Rose.

Nuss hits him over the top and ties the game to end the 3rd.
