I agree with much of what the OP has to say, but why not just take a wait-and-see approach and let it all play out?
Maybe we win out and everyone else loses one or more games, then I would say we are definitely in NC consideration.

i hate people that bash every win LSU has.
We beat UNC.. oh well we had to do it on a 4th down and a second team defense.
We beat Vandy, but its just Vandy
We beat Mississippi St... but they should have beaten us last year
We beat WVU... oh but they were not as good as advertised
We beat Tennessee... oh but they actually beat us
We beat Mcneese... but it wasnt by 1000
We beat Florida... oh but we couldnt now because they are playing better
We lose to Auburn... but thats supposed to happen, seems like you have been rooting for a loss all year.
We beat BAMA... well they must have been overrated because no way we could beat them otherwise.
Have we been impressive, not exactly, but our schedule does not really allow for many impressive games. Stop bashing the fact that we are winning. TCU, Boise, and Oregon may score 100 a game but its against a lot less talent. Where as they hit the cruise button after the 2nd game we have to keep accelerating. We keep getting better and they plateau.
Bama lost to South Carolina... but they have improved since then. Florida lost to us and they have improved.... BUT SO HAVE WE. you cant just call it one way.
If we get into the National Championship it will be well deserved. We went through a gauntlet.
Just let the season play out. If we are undefeated right now we would be a shoe in for the National Title despite what our wins look like.
Stop bashing everything... being optimistic is not wearing Purple and Gold glasses, its just hoping for the best situation.

I agree. I want to see the two best teams in the country play for the NC every year, regardless if LSU is one of those teams or not.
This year, we have no buisness playing in the NC. Sorry but we dont.

Chill we are 5th in the country and yes we do. You honestly think TCU or Boise deserves it more than we do. Look at the schedules they play and then take a look at our. If Oregon and Auburn stumble late in the season... WHY NOT US?!!

He have beat More ranked teams than anyone ahead of us... That includes teams that are currently ranked.
And if we win out we would have beat more ranked teams than tcu Oregon and Boise state combined

I haven't read the whole thread, just the OP, but If you don't think LSU is every bit as good as Boise, TCU or Auburn for that matter, your crazy. LSU lost on the road by 1 TD to Auburn#2. Auburn had great stats in the game, but the score reflected a bend but don't break game until the 4th quarter with an exhausted defense. LSU's offensive inconsistency is the only questionable piece to a dominate team. When LSU offense plays well the team is almost invincible. LSU offense has risen up in the most important games with exception of auburn where WRs dropped about 5 passes that really should have been caught, and cost very valuable time of possession in a game that the defense had a very tough matchup and possibly cost points.
I bet you think Bama could beat Boise st or TCU or maybe even auburn.
You just can't give credit to a very good team with a very challenging schedule.
Bottom line, if LSU wins out, it means they have beaten Ole Miss at home and Arkansas on the road. That on top of UNC, WV, MSU, UF, and Bama. Pretty solid resume, no matter how the wins happen.

Did you not see the Ohio State team of 2002? Yes, they were undefeated, but they had to win a bunch of close ones.
