re: Anybody else glad the season is over?

This year has had the stink of a death march on it . Hate to say it, because it turned out to be a really good team, but there it is.
The whole offseason had the 1/9 hangover, and then HB7's season goes up in smoke. From that point, this team, which was supposed to be better than '11 never really put it all together. "Mettsaiah" really wasn't much better than the two-headed dumpster fire we had last year in regards of carrying the team. The injuries just kept coming. In about half the games, the defense was painfully exposed (even in games we won). And the bad "Mad Hatter" showed up at some very inopportune times. Put it all together, we never really knew what team was going to show up each week.
They were good enough to demand our loyalty and attention (unlike the 90's dark ages), but weren't good enough to reward us with the fun of 2011. I'm looking forward to 2013.

Yes, very happy it's over.

I will kind of miss it. Was always good for laughs seeing Miles staring at the moon, asking players, cops, officials what is going on, babbling during interviews about fans and weather , trying to dig into his head to see how much brain matter he has left, etc, etc. And of course watching a coach run a national championship caliber team into the ground with such great decisions and play calling. Good times.

Yes! Very Glad! Tired of watching a stupid coach! Knowing he has the best athletes boosters can buy! And relying on a good defensive coach to make him look good! Ive said from day one, he is a nut! Sticking to baseball and if Paul can't do it fire his arse!

LOL my epiphany came in 2008. The pick 6s got to be comical to me and as the season spiraled my concern faded. I've been able to keep it that way by getting married, making a baby, and focusing on work lol

we all should of quit, after those pick six's

I enjoyed watching the Washington game and 28 minutes of the second half of the Bama game. The rest of the season was torture.

yes, glad it is over, but for the first time ever, I am not excited about the next year. we have such great talent but the absolute worst coach. with Less Miles, same same for years to come...

1/9 killed my optimism for this team. It killed a part of my soul too.
Amen...this was the start of it all IMO. I think most of us realized then that there was something seriously wrong in preparing this team to play up to it's expectations and capabilities!

+1 I've had enough for one season!

I let go of the season after the Bama game and when I saw the shitty play in the Ole Miss game... I knew what was coming. Felt good. Like a huge weight off my shoulders.

I'll never quit being a fan and I'm not happy to see the season end bc I don't like basketball and I'll be excited about next year. But no loss gets me that down anymore bc I approach LSU football as mere entertainment and nothing more. It's a distraction.

+1000 and as Fightin Tigah said or close to, "just not interested anymore in watching something that I used to look so forward to."

Yes. I need the break. But we can expect the same thing next year and the year after and the year after and...

I am emotionally drained and have a distaste for football at this moment.
Seriously considering giving up being a " diehard" LSU football fan like I did in 1994 for Tiger basketball. I couldn't take the lack of fundamental skills and the horrible game coaching coming from Dale. So I quit. Quit buying season tickets and quit caring. I have been a much happier person since then.
So now we have football. Horrible game coaching, or lack thereof, poorly trained players (passing accuracy, catching, penalties, not picking up blitzes or stunts), have me feeling similar to 1994.
So maybe it's time to lay football aside, keep supporting baseball, and get on the Johnny Jones bandwagon.

Indeed. 10 wins, mostly grinded out, in uly fashion made this a less enjoyable season.
Of course, it will look better as the losses grow in 2013. I'm not expecting much next season.

I agree with everything you are saying and your similes are fantastic.

Yeah, really not even interested in seeing a Spring Game. Use the practice allotted for working on a fricking offense.

I have to agree. 1/9 killed some of my spirit. I remember me and my dad being extremely pumped for the game and by the end of it we were completely left numb. The people in my town were rightfully pissed, including two of the recruits from here; Dural and Holmes. I graduated with them and they couldn't believe that we got beat that badly and seemingly never put up a fight. Whenever the Saints or Lakers lose, I can at least feel something from it. When we lost that day I felt nothing. I'm not an old school LSU fan who watched the 90s. But I remember going to my first tailgate in 00 at 6 and since then I always looked forward to the games and would do my own scouting with my dad. Now, he's lost a deal of passion for the team and I find myself being relived with wins instead of ecstatic like I used to be.
