I not only ate in Hatcher cafeteria..I WORKED in Hatcher cafeteria. I was the one who on my first day spilled an entire bucket of mop water on the floor as everyone was filing in to eat breakfast...I knew at that point that this student job wasn't for me.

South Stadium 1968-69 Second Floor just pass the Jet,
Rememer when a neighbor decided he did not need his desk and unbolted it and his other neighbor's desk fell off. The bolt through the wall held the desks on both sdes.

Fall semester, 1980 through Spring semester 1981. Lived in North Stadium 212, which was right over Gate 4 and looked right out at Mike the Tigers cage. No AC,but it was an old four person room with two of us in it. When it was hot, always had the windows open and alot of mornings my 'wake up call' was Mike roaring for his breakfast! It was hot, old and a dump, but I was living away from home for the first time, going to LSU, living IN Tiger Stadium and had Mike as my neighbor. Greatest year of my life.

I did not live there but for my first game day when my buddy & I walked up there were guys hanging out of the windows yelling geaux tigers & speakers blaring rock & roll. We just looked at each other and said "oh yeah, this is where I'm coming to school"!!!

As a high school senior attending Boys State from Bogalusa I spent a week on the East side. My first stay in a college dorm. It was cool.

West Stadium, fall of 1972. It was the biggest dump I ever lived in!

Northeast end Fall of 72.
I don't think my roomate never went to one class, ever. When I was getting up for class in the AM, he would come in from gambling and playing pool all night. Sleep all day, get up in the PM when I was through with class and do it all over again...

Stayed in North Stadium for a week during 74 freshman Tiger Band camp. Huge room, but no AC in August was ridiculous. Moved into Old Graham when the semester started for one half a semester and then into New Graham for the other half. Dorm life was NOT for me. Had an apartment for the rest of my days at LSU, but still had a meal ticket for many years at Kirby Smith cafeteria. Many don't like campus cafeteria food, but I liked KSC..........

I lived on the 3rd floor of North Stadium facing Mike the Tiger's cage during the Fall of '82 and Spring of '83.
I lived on the 1st floor of South Stadium (Room 105, I believe...) from the Fall of '83 through the Fall of '84.
I worked in Hatcher Cafeteria during the lunch shift cleaning tables and mopping floors during that time period.

Or me! Living in Tiger Stadium in the early to mid-80s was pretty much one non-stop party.

I never lived Tiger Stadium but I did spend a week there in '74 while at a high school convention.
Great time.

Lived in West Stadium, fall of '79. Can't remember the room number but it was on the top floor - go up the central stairway and from there it's two doors to the left.
Man, what a shitehole that place was. They had three of us in this room - one regular bed and one set of bunk beds. My roomies were these walk-on football players from like Michigan or Ohio who were, surprisingly, totally cool.
My main memory of that fall was this one dude in the next room who had his guitar and amp up there, and he'd sit there blasting away in the middle of the day playing punk/metal type stuff. It was kind of fun at first, but the more it went on I'd just think to myself, "Oh, not this shite again!" Thank God he was pretty cool about it - whenever you'd go over to ask him to lay off for awhile he'd do it (something I did quite a few times).
Moved off to an apartment as soon as that semester was done. That place was just rank.

Yes it was! The place was a dump built out of concrete, so as long as you didn't set your door on fire or throw cherry bombs down the toilets, you couldn't hurt much. It wasn't for everybody, but those of us there took a certain pride in being the 'trash in the stadium'.. LO

Lamabe (spelling) was the baseball coach. We had shirts made up "Living in the Rock" Graphic made it like Tiger Stadium was sitting on alcatraz island.

I'd love to stroll through there these days...minus the asbestos.
