What a miserable jackass. You'd rather the guy that's at 0-2 in an inferior conference? (Jimbo)? If O can get the team to perform like that every game, he's clearly the man for the job.

You're saying even if he runs the table and wins the SEC, and we make the playoffs, he's not the right man for the job?

It was not meant to show my true intellect, it was meant to show the emotion of wanting one of our own to succeed. The OP is discounting O because of his place of birth and his mannerisms.

Did you wake up this morning desperate to post this?

I don't think anybody is ready to crown Coach O as the permanent head coach yet, but - truly - there's no reason at this time to already lock into a position that he should not be the coach.

As for other posters, here, suggesting that it will take him "winning out" to secure the position, how many "ELITE" coaches are there out there, right now, that can guarantee a win against Alabama? The answer is "None."

I agree, but downvote for bad timing. Let's wait for Ole Miss and Bama.

I think what Ed (and other coaches) did this week was impressive; however, everyone should tap the brake on Ed.

While it is great to see a Louisiana boy at the helm of the program, let's see what plays out and go from there. This is a big decision for this program and we need not make it from the perspective of program profile and availability of quality coaches. If that process leads us back to Ed - great.

What we don't need to do is get back into that mindset that brought us Archer, Hallman, DiNardo, etc. those hires were born of desperation and this program is way beyond those years.

You're right, but for O to leapfrog coaches other teams actually want to hire, he needs to do something exceptional. Let's hope he does, but Peveto could go 5-3 with this team.

If he runs the table he absolutely deserves the gig. Do you realize what kind of turn around that is? O did a really good job at USC while interim so that would mean two times in a row he has turned chicken shite into chicken salad. Some here will use the talent as the reason but this team was a mess with Miles and it takes a good coach to put that talent to use.

You're damn right if wins 8 games hire him
A lot of people keep saying this, I really don't think making CEO geaux 8-0 is being fair to an interim coach. Maybe 7-1 would be more fair. He has to work with the same coaches. Most are great coaches but there is a coach or two that aren't . Lets be patient and fair to O . I said when he was named interim that he is the guy. I stand by that especially after last night. He made watching my Tigers fun again.

By that logic, I guess Les was not a decent coach so his firing was totally justified.

Draw your own conclusions.

He was doing SOMETHING wrong.

Not a bad point. However any any decent coach has to be able to recruit at the same level as les. Coach O has proven he can.
If you have a great coach that can't recruit you are screwed.
I will settle for a decent coach that can recruit.

I hope you get a flat tire on a shitty road, and your car falls off of the jack. Then, I hope you get another flat 20 minutes later on the exact same road and since you don't have a spare, you have to wait until Monday to get your tire fixed

So did Clay Helton, how's that working out for USC? Wins as an interim coach don't mean what you think they do.

I see it like this: you have to go after Herman. That's a no-brainer. Getting him may or may not be problematic, but you have to at least try. Make him tell you 'no'.

Plan B: if BeBe can go at least 7-1 or 6-2 the rest of the way and Herman's not interested, you offer
BeBe a three-year deal, heavily laden with incentives, i.e., raises/extensions for SEC West titles, SEC titles, playoff appearances, etc., and see if he'd accept that.

Some people learn from their mistakes. If he runs the table we would be foolish to not give him another year.
That said, no way we run the table.

Proud of the way coach "O" got this team ready to play. Also, gotta be proud of the DC he dialed up a great game. If you left this game with any negative thoughts u suck.

Well said. This has nothing to do with Coach O. Save your sulking. Better have a clear head going forward - especially when the season comes to a close. You MUST remain objective. I don't think Coach O could ever put us in the same predicament that Miles did, but you have to keep things in proper perspective. Let your orgasms fade before you pop the question.

Coach O was our HC last night and he one hell of a good job.

LSU is in a unique situation where they can audition a prospective HC. So far, coach O has done a great job.
