He always left it open ended.

His ability to get the strikeout was always impressive. But he truly never improved in other areas; walks, wild pitches, HR-prone. His outcomes were not great when not getting K's.

Mets are not wasting a draft pick if he is not willing to sign
he's gone and he already said that's what he wanted to do
no guarantee he even gets drafted next year and if he does he might get a plane ticket

I think Jay thought the draft eligible guys would be gone. After each one got, drafted, including Guidry, Jay tweeted a message congratulating them and with positive notes about their time here. Sounded like he thinks they will be gone, and probably already using the roster spot in his mind.

Also, Guidry was having a draft watch party on Sunday. The way he reacted when he was drafted seems like somebody who is ready to sign.

I think he has been told by Jay Johnson that if he gets another opportunity, any opportunity, take it.

Guidry will benefit greatly from being able to throw a certain number of
pitches per outing without being pulled. He has the stuff, but lacks the control which leads to walks or throws down the middle which are often homers.

The minor leagues are more about development instead of winning.
Here, we have to win games which leads to quick hooks. In the minors. ,
if they decide he’s going to throw 50;pitches, it doesn’t matter how many walks or homers he gives up, he’s throwing 50 pitches. Hopefully he can
improve his control and have a good career

Did you watch our pitching this year - I wouldn’t give him or any listed the option of coming back. Take the pittance they’ll offer and best of luck
