Weird.

Rivals

Some paranoid MF'ers on here.

People wrongly assume most dual threat QB's are marginal passers. It lists "dual threat QB" below his name.

surprised how people say he is mostly just a running qb

The people who look on rivals and ESPN and saw "dual threat QB" without ever watching anything on him. The people who have seen film on him have all said repeatedly this past year he is a pro-style QB with great mobility. Not a dual-threat "i cant pass" guy.

never even looked at rivals when it came to AJ.

247 has him as a pro-style QB.

FWIW, ESPN also has Melvin Jones listed as a "Athlete" and not a inside linebacker.

ESPN has Beckwith as an ATH and they said he could come in and play OLB or WIDE RECEIVER, no joke

I've quickly realized that Rivals & ESPN are a complete dumpster fire when it comes to recruiting boards.

I just hate how people jumped to call AJ another Jefferson on the rant. When they have very little in common imo.

If they think he is a dual threat then they didn't watch him at all. He has "escapability". He CAN make a play on his feet. He can avoid the rush.

But so can drew brees. Doesn't make brees a duel threat.

Jennings is a great passer and has great awareness and decision making. People need to stop just assuming that bc someone can make plays w their feet when they need to that they're dual threat.

I like it myself. Shows me who doesn't know shite and who not to listen to. People take what they hear off the rant and pass it off as if they were on the sidelines themselves game planning and scouting w miles.

Not to mention they failed to include white and Herron (both 5*'s) in their top 150.

ALSO

they said Bama stole our best player in the state... He wasn't even the best at his position.

Is it that hard for folks on the rant to youtube his name and watch footage of AJ?

Thats because people see the color of his skin and decide to show their ignorance by thinking hes a running qb, he is actually a pro style qb

Where are all of these people who have this opinion?

BTW, I think the Leak comparison is a good one.

hard to tell if any highschool kid will transition especially at the qb spot
Well, it looks like the geeks have already started up with the newest version of the historical LSU black/white quarterback controversy without Jennings or Rettig having even stepped on the field in an SEC game against SEC defenses.

Doesn't matter what either one of them did in high school. The S.E.C. has chewed up and spit out many "Great" high school QB's that couldn't make the transition mentally. The game speeds up too fast for many and they can't process the information quickly enough to be sucessful.

Witness Russell Shepard as the most recent example. Foretold by the Rant geeks as the greatest thing since sliced bread and the next great LSU QB solely based on what he did in high school.

So save us all the predictions of how great they'll be based on high school highlights where they just physically out talented inferior athletes. Step into the toughest college football conference in America, where you actually have to think and it's a whole different ball game.

Jefferson wasn't considered dual threat either.

I suspect that was forced on him in 2010 by staff and there was a marked regression from '09.

Why is there the automatic assumption that dual-threats cannot pass? RG3 can pass very well and he is still a dual-threat.

This kid really reminds me a lot of Russell Wilson, the ability to move in the pocket take off and run if necessary, but also the throwing motion is very similar and both seem to have a great head on their shoulders.
