re: Anthony Jennings Appreciation Thread (Posted on 10/26/14 at 7:56 am to DrewSimp82)

We seriously have a stupid fan base. Jennings throws two picks late in the game and everyone starts calling for his head. We proceed to run the ball for 94 yards, he completes a wide open 1 yard bootleg, and now he's back to being a good up and coming quarterback.

The defense and offense line with a good stable of running backs won this game in spite of mediocre play at the QB position.

LSU will NOT be able to wear down Bama like they did Ole Miss last night... Bama is BETTER than Ole miss.

You don't think the oline gets any credit

Also, you're shitting on AJ because his passing stats were poor, but you don't realize how instrumental the QB is in reading defenses and getting us in the right play.

I bet AJ did that very well last night. And I bet the coaches are congratulating him this week when they look at film.

I think the running game and O line Dominated. I should not have said the D gets all the credit *GOSH* but, AJ getting us in the right play, COME ON MAN it was downhill running. He didn't have to switch plays. I'm not worried about stats, but the two picks could have cost them the game. He stared down a particular receiver on all but one pass last night.

AJ is clearly a leader on the field. We'll have to be patient as he and the staff work to polish his rough edges. Did what we needed last night and essentially led 4 scoring drives.

For what ?? 8/16 1 td aND 2 INTERCEPTIONS ?? 142 YARDS PASSING ?? I DO THINK WHEN HE AND THE RECEIVERS GET TO KNOW EACH OTHERS MIND THEN WE WILL SEE that he is better than JJ . When he passes we all go Oh my , most of the passes fall to the ground . I know that will change , and when it does then talk about how great he and our team is . It, last night , belongs to the defense don't you agree ??

My problem with Jennings is that he stares down his primary receiver and looks for Dural only when it's a passing situation. He doesn't like to sit in the pocket and make the appropriate reads with his receivers. He did barely enough to win. And it's frustrating because he has the weapons around him to make great plays. I still have faith that he will get better. But it better happen soon because there is a very talented QB right behind him. My advice: get some chemistry going with those WRs

Jennings' first and second pass attempts resulted in resulted in completions for first downs. Those two plays kept Ole Miss from stacking the box all night.

Jennings does not have to complete all his passes, or even 10% more of his passes. He just needs to keep defenses from stacking the box.

Those first two pass attempts accomplished that goal perfectly.

Jennings' fifth pass attempt, a completion to Hilliard, was a thing of beauty.
