how is it possible that KY, with a new coaching staff could have a far superior than LSU, save on player, Seaton? Do LSU coaches just somehow not know how to evaluate Olinemen? Bah is no better than anything we had last year, and LG is no better. Center is barely average for the SEC and RT is just learning. Did KY already have strong oline last year put together by their previous coach? It is just confusing that LSU year after year just can't put together a strong, big, mean OLine that there is no chance LSU will not run for 1 yd when needed. After all that happened against KY, the final blow was LSU not believing it could gain one yard because of our weak Oline. Every good team LSU has ever had, never had that issue. This must be fixed very very soon,

Kentucky had a pretty good offensive line throughout Mark stoops tenure. They always ran the ball really well. It was everything else that they were bad at.

Going to the portal to build your OL just doesn't really work too well when you face SEC defenses all year. It's not very common for guys like Seaton and Braelin to hit the portal, and the guys that do typically demand high NIL. We couldn't go pay top dollar for every position that we needed filled, so we paid high at certain spots and had to figure it out at others.

When we've had a couple recruiting cycles to build this roster in a much more cost efficient way through HS recruiting, we'll start seeing those positions improve.

Also, saying that this year's OL is comparable to last year's is a complete joke. We have ran the ball extremely well this year. Last year's team was genuinely terrified of 3rd & Short situations.

But OP is asking why a first year coach was able to keep these guys or portal in better oLine.

Or why was OL coach able to coach his players better?

But our coach didn't think he could run for ONE YARD to ice a game in victory. What does that tell you about what he thinks of our Oline?
