There are none, what is the point of pointing out those facts?

Tiger fans can expect GG to prominently and favorably mention Nick Saban in his articles for so long as Saban is a hot button for tiger fans.

AND, for so long as his love for Nick goes unrequited.

I'm neither a GG or Saban fan, but the article in question does nothing to promote Saban or belittle Miles imo.

The Saban-hate on the Rant is amusing though.

The guy did a job for LSU and Miles is too.

But H-Town your "facts" presented just shows your bias against a coach who once cheered. Plus it has nothing to do w/ the facts of the article.

Oh, GG did mention other former coaches too, not just Saban.

It was ONLY written to promote Saban.

LSU released a statement regarding LSU players in the NFL.

GG presented the FACTS.

Good grief, y'all hate Saban even though he won championships and built a solid recruiting foundation.

He was stupid for leaving and he's an arrogant fool, but let it go.

DiNardo and Hallman deserve the wrath, not Saban.

He's seems to be calling out LSU. He should be talking about LSU's commitment to it's Football/Athletic programs. If not for that there would have been no Saban or Miles. All the success comes from LSU's commitment to it's college athlete's, not one person.

Then what is the point of the article? Were there any factual errors in the LSU press release in need of correction? Did the LSU PR mention any coaches other than the current one?

quote:

The Saban-hate on the Rant is amusing though.

I agree, equally amusing is the deification of Nick Saban by some fans and media types.

quote:

The guy did a job for LSU

Did being the operative word. He is no longer the coach at LSU, so there is no reason to expect a press release by LSU to praise his accomplishments especially considering he currently coaches a division rival. There is only one reason to point out that players, such as Glen Dorsey and Tyson Jackson that were coached for 3 and 4 years respectively by Miles, were signed by Saban. The NCAA and presumably the member schools take the POV that players sign with the schools, not coaches anyway.

quote:

But H-Town your "facts" presented just shows your bias against a coach who once cheered

Really? How so? Are any of my facts wrong? I am not biased against Saban, only Saban worshipers and those that engage in all or nothing thinking.

My only point is that Saban needed LSU as much if not more than LSU needed Nick Saban.

quote:

Oh, GG did mention other former coaches too, not just Saban.

Right, in part to compare and contrast. The LSU PR did not mention any former coaches, only the current one. The PR says 47 former LSU players are in the NFL and 22 were coached by Miles. Obviously, someone else coached the remaining 25. If the PR had mentioned Archer, Hallman and DiNardo, then there would a reason to point out the players coached by Saban. But that is not the case, so the GG article is just another gratuitous slap at Miles.

He didn't "criticise"
" A release by LSU said that coach Les Miles had coached 22 of the 41 players on the NFL's active rosters."
"It did not mention that former LSU coach Nick Saban signed 33 of the 47 players from 2000-04"

Sounds like critism to me....

Like this one???
"Saban clearly started NFL's Bayou Pipeline"

Don't let the facts get in your way of criticizing those who dislike GG though

Not to Miles, but keep drinking kool-aid.

While LSU has always produced NFL talent, the fact is LSU has become a pipeline of NFL talent this decade.

What's the damn problem of acknowledging that and who started it?

nothing, in the right context. What's wrong with LSU releasing a PR stating the FACT that 21 current NFL players were coached at LSU by Les Miles?

Nothing. They are doing their job to promote the current coach.

GG provided more detail as a reporter should.
