The people longing for him to come back were the same ones bitching about his team's lack of fundamentals and poor strategy on both ends of the floor.
Do you have any evidence to back this up? He’s obviously never going to coach here again but I feel pretty comfortable saying the vast majority of the people who are currently saying he was average or sucked here were saying he sucked while he was here, and are now also saying McMahon is some kind of coaching wizard because he didn’t put a second consecutive two conference win team on the floor.

I can name 6 coaches in the SEC right now better than Wade. Y'all's blind loyalty to him is laughable. He's not the only guy that can win at LSU but y'all sure act like it. And yes, I'm aware everyone was paying pre NIL. It's also much different now.

And I bet you can only name two or three better than McMahon, right?

MM can actually recruit.

No, he can't recruit. One player in the top 60 of his class in 3 years is pitiful recruiting. Also, if you accept the recruiting services team rankings for the last 2 years, LSU was 50th and so far only 31st. That is hideous recruiting.

He’s probably taking mcneese to the tournament dummy

He better win the Southland Conference tourney because he has 0 quality wins I believe. And no, beating a 7-15 Michigan team is not one. And he lost one time to SELA. He better get that automatic bid because last I checked his SOS was closing in on 300th toughest.

I’m sorry, who was coaching the team today in the loss referenced in the op?

Some of the great teams McNeese has beaten this year: Champion Christian, College of Biblical Studies, Mississippi University for Women, LaTourneau, Texas A&M Commerce, along with a slew of crappy Southland teams. He had one impressive win on the road vs Michigan. There's a reason Southland teams have to win their tournament to make the dance.

Both are disappointingly true.
Bring him back, Yes
He wouldn’t, Yes

The OP said bring back Will Wade. I'm not arguing for or against McMahon. The geniuses on this board think if Will Wade wins the southland (possibly the worst mid major conference) that he would be able to come back and run the SEC. He would be middle of the pack as a coach in today's conference.
