mostly the same players and the same coaches who are running the same system
I wonder why we had the huge jump in 2013?
You being so "logical" as you claim, can you explain that?

I find it odd that thinking we improved toward the end of the year, and that this could be a record breaking offensive season is considered controversial on this board.
I think some of the optimism may be tempered a bit by the fact that the late-season improvement was bolstered by bad defenses and a 7 OT game. I do think we're in for a better offensive season with the returning players.
as an aside, I'm hoping that when we play inferior teams during the early part of the season that we light em up if given the chance. style points for the media notwithstanding, I think it's good to get our boys used to scoring, and to get em some stats. there were times I felt like Les called off the dogs too early, I don't think O is gonna do that if given the chance.

We had a new offensive coordinator on top of returning practically everyone on offense

Check it out, guys. Ben has traveled into the future and come back to let us know how different the offense is.

We have a new passing coordinator who's bringing in new modern schemes this year. The offense will be quite different
From one of the least experienced to the most experienced offense in a year is going to make a huge difference on its own.
Again it's just bizarre some people think an improved offense is a controversial idea.

Its wishful thinking on their part.

Its almost as if some of these dolts don't want the offense to get better....or else they saw so much vanilla over the years they can't comprehend meaningful change.

Hopefully. And hopefully it’s improved and not just different.

It should make a difference and there should be at least a measure of improvement.

It’s not. I think the disconnect is that people aren’t necessarily convinced we are going to go from a poor offense to an awesome, “record breaking” offense. The addition of a young, unproven passing game coordinator and an off-season of work maybe isn’t enough to conclusively convince people. I think that’s fair. I think even the gloomiest of posters are at least a bit hopeful.

Whether it's politics or sports, people see what they want to see.
For whatever reasons.

Semantics...maybe roger or whoever posted this was a little over zealous.

It isn't controversial at all. It is the same tired story out of camp, year in and year out.
Bring in some new offensive guru after mediocre at best offensive results. Leak stories to complicit media about vastly improved offensive scheme that will be totally different than what we have seen before.
Rantards eat it up and run here tell everyone how great it will be. Anyone disagreeing lacks intelligence.
Fail to meet expectations by any real
measurable standard.
Rantards misconstrue statistics to push narrative.
Rinse and repeat.

Maybe so. It's also pretty convenient that he can throw out terms like that, someone then says they're not so sure the offense can make that big of a leap, and then all of a sudden in Roger's head everyone is trying to argue the offense isn't going to improve at all.

This is my stance on it.

Let's be honest, offensive records at LSU are rarely unattainable. It's not a real stretch

They’re like democrats whenever a republican occupies the White House. They’ll tell you the country is sliding into chaos; when in reality, unemployment is at record lows.

I believe that the addition of new asst coach Brady with a more experienced Burrow and offensive unit as a whole will prove to be a more productive offense in 2019.
I'm expecting an improved offense, in part because there's really no way for a team of LSU's talent and resources to be worse than last season.
I stop short of "record-breaking" offense. I don't know who they think we're going up against, a bunch of scrubs that will be powerless to stop the mighty Ensminger all of a sudden?
LSU had the talent to be better than they were last season. Playcalling held them back. Let's just face facts, if Ensminger was known as someone that gets the very best out of his players, he would've had a more successful career than he's had.
I'm not going to heap all of the hopes and dreams of the LSU offense onto an assistant of an assistant. He could be the next great offensive mind in college football. I just have to see it first.
