Carlton Andrew Valentine II (born May 25, 1991) is an American college basketball coach who is currently the head coach at Loyola University Chicago, a position he assumed in 2021.[1][2] He played college basketball at Oakland University in Michigan, where he later served as an assistant coach.

He’s been a HC in CBB, for all of 1 year… and he inherited a team that in large part is still Porter Moser’s team who is a terrific coach.

He has been an assistant there for several years and no they were loaded with seniors last year. Including Cameron krutwig the star player.

Valentine was an assistant, the top assistant. It would make sense if he had an active role in their recruitment.

Yep. UMASS made a similar hire with Matt McCall a few years ago and just fired him. He looked promising at Chattanooga but was really just winning with what some random coach left behind for him.

The player leading in minutes is a transfer from Oakland. Have to think Carlton was influential there
Moser was the coach for a long time. He only won the conf tournament for the first time in 2018. Im not ready to say valentine is a product of some other coaches success.
