I travel in and out on Dalrymple and the biggest issues I see that direction are that I-10 off ramps there are still open and the on ramp westbound isn’t a protected merge. At that point you’d have no holdup to allow off ramp cars to turn and the on-ramp traffic could move non-stop.

Can someone explain this without just complaining?

What I don’t get is how these tickets can cost hundreds to thousands of dollars and people make the effort to show up but then leave halfway through. It’s weird. Why pay that much?

Yes I do. They are two very similar games with similar attendance emptying out at near identical rates. Thus, making them perfect for a blind comparison.

As for big close SEC games, why in the f&%k would I EVER leave one of those early enough to test it? The only place I want to be during one of those matchups is in the stadium. If you don't want to be in Tiger Stadium in the 4th quarter when LSU is down 4 with 5 minutes left, then why the ever-loving f&%k would you ever bother with buying tickets and going through with the hassle of getting to campus in the first place!?

I don’t get it either. Their excuses are so lame- “it’s hot” “ the seats are uncomfortable”. Sounds a bit weak

Especially by the 4th quarter of a night game. The sun has gone down, the wind has picked up, it's pleasant out, and bring a f&%king cushion.

I absolutely get it for a day game when it's 1000 degrees in the stadium or if it's really bad weather, but come on. It's usually a really lame excuse.

Many roads are closed off so as to direct people to the interstate as quickly and directly as possible. Some two lane roads are made to allow for only one direction of traffic. Some roads are completely closed off. It leaves many people who are not going to the interstate shite out of luck. My last year at LSU I had to park my car at Winn Dixie a few nights because Burbank was closed and I physically could not get to my apartment.

Summary:
Contraflow is only beneficial if you are driving to the interstate.

This is so vague.

Where are you parking on campus and trying to end up afterwards?

The bulk of our group is not heading to the interstate and live locally. No one has any major issue. We all park in a location that makes getting home easy.

This is the key. You have to park in a location that flows toward your destination. If you don't, it's a nightmare.

This brings me to the other issue with LSU Contraflow:
It's inconsistent and unpredictable.

Two years ago, I had a parking pass in the new Alex Box lot.

In 6 home games:
Once sent north on River Road
Once sent north on Nicholson
Twice permitted to cross Nicholson and go straight onto Burbank
Twice forced south onto Nicholson and not permitted to make a left turn until Bluebonnet.

If I don't know where they're going to send me each week, how can I know which parking pass to purchase?

LSU fans act like every other major college town doesn’t have traffic when leaving a game. It’s bizarre.

Dude, you asked and I told you. If you think I'm lying or creating a story - great. Parking in a convenient spot makes no difference when roads are closed surrounding your apartment complex. If you physically cannot get to your house, it doesn't matter where you park near campus.

We’re all parking around Highland/Dalrymple. Even the guy who needs to get off Bluebonnet shoots up Dalrymple, through Hundred Oaks, and onto i10 eastbound at Acadian or College.

It isn’t complicated. But some here think they should just be able to zoom down Highland over to Burbank

It doesn’t matter much either way to me, I just think it’s funny the dudes that complain the MOST about this are watching it on TV. So the ones ain’t even at the damn game bitching about the people that actually showed up.

This is my complaint as well. It should be the same for every game.

It really is a very weird way of thinking for some of these people

I can count on one hand the number of home games I've missed in the last 15 years, and one hand the number of games I attended that I left prior to the double zeros.

As for those who complain about the traffic watching on TV, that one is accurate. They complain about the traffic because it's the reason they no longer show up and now watch on tv to avoid the bullshite. My father finally gave up his season tickets after close to 40 years in part because he was tired of fighting it to get home to AP.

I don’t think you’re lying. You just provided no context other than parking at WD on Burbank.

It sounds like your complex was off Burbank. Why aren’t you parking in a lot that exits traffic to Burbank?
