In studying what makes Saban different than most power 5 head coaches is his attention to models/systems. He sees his football program like a CEO not a coach. He can have any level of talent come through and get repeated high results.

This aspect is what has exposed Coach O. He never created a system of excellence that everyone must follow no matter the talent. When the great talent leaves he is now exposed…talent is never scalable or reproducible.

Btw, Coach O is not alone in this. Most coaches in power five live and die with talent not a system of high accountability.

From what I see, Napier brings this high level thinking to LSU and would finally have access to top level resources.

I truly hope Woodward hires a business man not just a coach.

Can he? How many non-top 3 recruiting classes has he had? I’d say what makes Saban different than most coaches is more often than not he has the #1 recruiting class and when he doesn’t, he’s top 3. Obviously he excels in other areas, but stockpiling talent at every position is his most important skill.

I don't think he is at the top of their list, but he is on their list. I watched the game last night. UL is very well coached.

In my opinion, the top talent is attracted to Coach Sabans vision that he casts on his program. He constantly talks about championship football. He fundamentally understands human behavior and that top talent hates being around average thinking and visa versa.

It’s his ability to set high standards and command accountability that attracts the talent.

I like Napier as a coach. He does make some questionable decisions. He damned near cost ULL vs App St last year. That game should have been no where close.

He has ULL turned around and a totally legit program.

If we don't get a splash hire, he would be a very good choice and a clear improvement over what we have now.

LSU needs to stay away from Napier! He is right at home here in Lafayette!
