riddle me this: what top flight coach is going to step into that nightmare?
I always love when people try to prop up a shitty coach with this bullshite.
I could list again, for the umpteenth time, all the examples I can come up with right off the top of my head without even really trying hard, but it would be a waste of time.
Coaches know the business, they want a big salary at a big school where they can win. If they can get that, they don't give a flying frick how the last guy to hold the job was treated. End of story.
This is and always has been a completely retarded and ridiculous argument. No school or team in sports history has ever been turned down by a coach because of how his would-be predecessor was treated. Not a single one, ever.

You mean the Chavis defense that gave up only 30 yds less per game in 2009 than 2008. Bend but don't give your offense many chances defense.
Statements like this aggravate me because they simply aren't backed up with factual information.
Our total defense (yards given up) ended up ranked 26th. To think that having the 26th ranked defense was a major contributing factor to having the 112th ranked offense (yards gained) is ridiculously illogical.
Add the fact that the defense was ranked 11th in scoring defense overall and it goes from illogical to just plain stupid to point toward the defense as a cause of our problems.
But, you keep believing it if you need to.

Dude you need to bring bullets when you come to this shootout. You already look like a fool for being a negatiger.
Do homework.

lol...I get your drift but in this discussion the 12 gauge shells were more than enough to make my point.

There is a correlation between yards given up by the defense and offensive plays.
Defense: yds allowed per game

Sorry, I gave more credit to Chavis than deserved.
The inept offense deflected from seeing the problems of the defense. Did he do a better job than the co-dummies? Certainly, but a mushroom could have could have done better than those clowns.

Are you stoked about this year's defense?
Give me your 2010 starting defensive lineup

This year is the least I've been excited in a while. I just don't see any way that coaching will improve. Once spring ball starts, I'm going to change my avatar and try to be more cheery.

No
I've been cooking from home lately. Tonight I had a Barksdale Burger, Flynn Fries, Scott Salad, and a Toliver Tea.

2009 offense - 304.5 yds per game
2008 offense - 368.1 yds per game
So by your logic, 64 more yds per game, LSU should go back to JLee, right?

Don't forget about:
Full scale meltdowns against Ole Miss and Penn St in front of the whole nation.

The problem is young o line and qb. Anyone can't see that knows nothing about football.
Posted on 2/18/10 at 9:04 pm to LSUSUPERSTAR
So all those 3 and outs had nothing to do with LSU's defense getting wore down? What do you think co-retards would do with the worst d-line LSU has had in recent memory?
This line was worse than last year and Chavis still kept a top 15 scoring defense. Plus, offense was worse...which put the defense on the field more.
If you want to play the defense made the offense worse card...you can say the same thing for offense.

I thought it was just as bad in 2008 despite what we had then.

Nah, I think they were worse, IMO. Alem and Pep Levingston would get blown off the line in run plays. Neither could get a sack either. At least Jackson played the run good last year. I know people will argue he was out of position a lot but the reality of that was terrible LB play. Something Chavis overhauled. DTs were inconsistent.
I like our young players though. I think Edwards will turn into a stud.

See Raiders, Oakland. And that's just off the top of my head, without really trying that hard. I realize that the raiders haven't had to change coaches since your last bowel movement, so I don't really expect you to remember it.

bullshite.
Besides, as I said, I have a list that could literally go on for days. If you want to get into that contest, you might as well give up before it starts.
But for funsies, I'll start with a list of coaches who were perfectly willing to take over at schools where this argument was made against firing the predecessor...
Nick Saban (twice)
Bobby Petrino
Tommy Tuberville
Mack Brown
Urban Meyer
Jim Tressel
Mark Richt
Bob Stoops
Dennis Franchione (twice)
That's just a handful right off the top of my head without any real thinking about it. There are MANY, MANY more, but these are just a few notables from the very recent past.
Coaches don't give a shite about the previous coach. They want money and a chance to win and build a rep. If you offer that, they don't give a damn about anything else.

I have followed TD.com for a few years but never registered until recently but some comments on this topic show just how far Tiger nation has fallen in terms of true fan base. Don't get me wrong, I was at Ole Piss and Bama last year and it was embarrassing, but the overall negativity shown by people is absurd.
Re-hiring Nick Saban would be absolutely ridiculous and would show that we firmly believe that money is no object and winning is the only thing that matters. It is pathetic and an embarrassment that this would even be considered.

vs. Florida: 1-2
vs. Alabama: 1-2
vs. Arkansas: 1-2
vs. Ole Miss: 1-2
Total: 4-8
Notably, although the record against all four over the past three years is the same at 1-2, in three of the four cases, our one win was three years ago. Cut it down to the past two years, and the picture looks like this:
vs. Florida: 0-2
vs. Alabama: 0-2
vs. Arkansas: 1-1
vs. Ole Miss: 0-2
Total: 1-7
Not that we're trending down or anything. I guess we can point to the fact that our one win was in 2009 instead of 2008 if we want to delude ourselves.
