If Alleva were going to hire Jones, then he would have already hired Jones. /endofstory
If the Dixon thing doesn't break today, then it's dead as well.
One of two things happened:
1) The source for McKay and Kleinpeter knew some info but got a couple of things mixed up. The source knew that Dixon was at the top of Alleva's list and knew that Alleva was going to Atlanta for a meeting and tried to put two and two together but was wrong.
2) Dixon was supposed to go to Atlanta to meet with Alleva but backed out at the last minute.
Like I said, if nothing breaks on Dixon today, then it's not happening.
If the Dixon thing doesn't break today, then it's dead as well.

Personally, I still think Pastner is the fallback hire...I think they may have a couple targets higher than Pastner that they're going to make a pitch to, but if those guys say no, then it will be Pastner's job.
Despite what many on the rant say, I feel certain Jones will not be the hire. Alleva has been too forthcoming about the Jones interview, etc, for him to be a legitimate candidate. He just wanted to make sure everyone knew that he interviewed jones and make it look like he legitimately considered him for the job.

I agree. If everything with JJ was so amazing and sexy in the eyes of Alleva, I'm sure he would have been hired by now.

Come on now. McKay brought this board info from a real source. I promise you that Jim Kleinpeter of the Times-Picayune didn't report the same info simply because he saw it on TD.

This is absolutely true. Plus Cauble needs to hire a better backup. This guy on WBRZ just repeats Wikipedia entries and is usually 12 hours behind.
