So who has a better source?
Idk this one is tough to call, I was strolling through The Tiger Lair last night and there was a post about Alleva meeting Dixon in Atlanta. I thought it was rumor until this thread got rockin and I saw the flight tracker and what not. Times-Picayune made it official IMO. But then someone tweeted that they just talked to Dixon who was at a Penguin-Flyers game, which didn't seem to add up. Dixon was also on the phone with ESPN's signing day show for around 2 mins at about the same time. Now everyone is saying that he never went to Atlanta which is totally believable. So much confusion

It literally sounds like Hawthorne calling pbp of a basketball game right now:

"Okay, Jones now has the ball in his court...wait, Drew now has it...uhhh...no, Tommy Amacker is now going down the...wait...HE TURNED IT OVER! Okay, uhh...so...uhhh...Floyd...I think that's Floyd...YES! Floyd now has the ball, but he then gives it right back to Jones, who gives it back to Drew...who GIVES IT BACK TO JONE...no, WAIT...DIXON has the ball...or does he?"

That, my friend, is where we are at.

But Pastner is wide open for the win!

Why would anyone tell him anything if the first thing he does is come on the freaking rant to tell a bunch of college kids about it?

What kind of people are we dealing with in the athletic department for that to be the case?

He very well could be right, but come on, if you worked there would you tell this guy this? And the fact that he doesn't even post in anonymity.

The whole thing is odd.

I was going to call for a Jack Hunt reference, but this is basketball, so it doesn't really make sense.

But then again......

Regardless of who Joe met in Atlanta, it is a fact that Joe was in Atlanta for about 3 hours this afternoon.

Makes you really start to question the times pic if they took dixon's name off. who are their "sources" if they so easily remove something like that.

"A previous report on Nola.com that Alleva met with University of Pittsburgh Coach Jamie Dixon was inaccurate."

No ambiguity there - Kleinpeter is coming right out and saying it didn't happen.

Or, that's at least what it seems like...

Probably. I did think it was somewhat odd that they had no source for him meeting Dixon.

He's basically saying that he reads the blogs and pawns off info there as his own. Pathetic.

Even if this is true and we did in fact meet with him, Times Pic fail.

What a joke. I hope that was their blog, or something. Is everything about clicks and hype?

That would be horrible for him.

It happened, it didn't happen, it happened....

Ouch.

I read this in a Jim Hawthorne voice and it absolutely worked.
