You do know that A&M got a bye week before this game too right?

Yes I do. I also see their other bye is before their games against Auburn while ours is before Alabama?

Do you see how it's beneficial that LSU's byes are before A&M and Bama, while Bama and A&M have byes before LSU and Auburn?

Distraction of playing on thanksgiving, simple.

Yeah playing on thanksgiving is so much mor distracting than playing a day or 2 after thanksgiving. Come on, players aren't distracted by a holiday.

WTF, the only future schedule to argue about is 2014. You're making arguments for schedules that haven't been discussed yet.

Yes as I said.

The top 3 teams in the West are LSU, Alabama, A&M.

LSU has byes before Bama and A&M
Bama has byes before LSU and Auburn
A&M has byes before LSU and Auburn

Do you not see how that is more advantageous to LSU?

Actually yes having negotiated media contracts with NBA, NHL and a couple of universities ( one being a SEC west school) I kind of do know. But keep doping yourself

So see, we got absolutely nothing out of this. Our two toughest opponents also have a bye week before we play them. In what universe are we coming out fair and square here? The fact that A&M don't have byes before they play each other? They're even there so that doesn't matter.

There is no advantage if A&M gets a bye before as well.

Do you disagree that there are an abundance of tickets at cheap prices this year? Do you think there will be a groundswell of folks looking to shell out $70 next year to see Sam Houston St. and New Mexico St.? You think it's foolish to think a fanbase's paying support can't slowly erode away? Take a look at the NFL....for some it's hard to compete with a comfy couch, HD tv, and cheap beer.

I'm talking about the advantage of the entire schedule. We have bye before our 2 biggest roadblocks to the SEC West championship. A&M and Bama don't have that. I don't see how this is going over your head.

A&M and Bama likely beat Auburn with or without a bye. They don't have a bye against each other so they are fair and square there. The only that is inequitable here is that LSU didn't want to play on Thusday but A&M did and they got it.

CBS contracts calls for one night game designation and a Black Friday game.

They are then free to choose what game gets MOVED into those two slots.

They have chosen the LSU arky game for many years yes. Now they are free to choose another since those two teams don't play that weekend. Could be any SEC game scheduled for that weekend except the special Thursday road game(s) which can't be moved, but could be aired on CBS since its in CBS window of night schedule

I'm willing to bet good money that CBS is furious at this game being moved to Thanksgiving night. CBS does not carry an Thanksgiving night game, nor will they in the future. The SEC, and Joe Alleva, just bowed down to A&M and let them force their Texas rivalry game onto LSU.

ESPN shows the Thanksgiving night game. I'm sure CBS is thrilled to now have Kentucky vs. Tennessee on Black Friday at 1:30.

LSU is not going to run out of fans willing to shell out dollars to watch them play anytime soon.

Jesus Christ. They don't have a bye before they play each other. I guarantee if you ask them which games they want to have a bye before in 2014 they wouldn't say Auburn.

How many people will step foot in the stadium this year for the Furman game? And yes I realize the tickets are bought and paid for......but how much revenue are they losing out on by having a half empty stadium?

LSU vs. A&M-both have byes(even)

LSU vs. Bama-both have byes(even)

Bama vs. A&M- neither have a bye(even)

Bama/A&M vs. Auburn- both have a bye(even)

How do we have an advantage here?

Dude, you are having way too much trouble understanding this concept.

When comparing schedules with each other team in the division, LSU's bye weeks sets up more favorably than Alabama and A&M's. Every team wants bye weeks before their toughest opponents, only LSU has that in the West, advantage LSU.
