The first time I walked into the stadium with my Dad at the age of 7 in 1973. The smells, the sights, the sounds.

I was already ate up with the Tigers, listening on the radio and such.

But I was hooked for life that night.

Many great memories in TS since seeing my first game there in 1949, but the one that stands out most in my mind is the 1961 Ole Miss game (I wasn't in TS for the 59 game!)

Ole Miss came into TS ranked #2, but early that day #1 Michigan State lost, so a convincing victory over #6 LSU would obviously propel Ole Miss to #1. The Tigers upset the Rebels 10-7 behind Stovall and Wendell Harris. The Tigers only completed one pass in that game, but it was a critical fourth down pass to Bill Traux to keep alive the winning TD drive.

To keep the home fires happy, I'll say it was the nite I got engaged at the LSU/weenie game in 1976. As LSU was heavily favored, the plan, known by all round us except for my SO, was to give her the ring right after LSU scored its second TD. Which did not come till there was 3 minutes let in the game. As we had been sitting in the same seats for over 10 yrs & a large majority in the section were from our home town, everyone knew us, so the moment that we scored & she got her ring is my all time favorite moment in TS. Putting another 62 on the weenies & 60+ on Archie were close to the top, but #2,hands down, the Bert Jones/Brad Davis TD pass with 4 seconds remaining to beat O. Miss is # 2, if for no other reason than the memories of the O.Miss players throwing their helmets in disgust into the hedges that surrounded the endzone at the time & the screaming by their fans. Priceless as the commercial puts it.

Tennessee 2010 (I think). Everybody thought the game was over, even Tennessee had gone to the locker room. We were saved by, of all people, T-Bob Hebert. Unbelievable.

Oh, and the Earthquake game.

2001 Auburn

Face off of two SEC West leaders.

Saban had team on upward trajectory.

Game was in December as a reschedulement due to 9/11 attacks.

Bought tickets in parking lot before game for face value that were on 40 yd line, 5th row East side that impressed beautiful date.

LSU clinched the West with the victory!!!

Stormed the field with the rest of the crowd afterwards.

Got laid

Auburn game 2001.

I know theres been much BIGGER game since then. But as a fan and having a chance for LSU actually play in Atlanta for the SEC crown against #2 ranked Tennessee. I knew at that point LSU was truly on the rise, scratching there way on the door of college footballs elites.

Tommy Tuberville's reaction to LSU's game opening onside kick is hilarious. Josh Reed and Rohan made AU's secondary look like a Pop Warner unit. Not to mention all the pre-game controversy with Auburn stomping on the eye and infamous Cigar celebration at the end of the 1999 game, this game had all the hate that SEC football thrives upon. Just to add more spice the pot Auburn's kicker decides to get into with TGBFTL at halftime. Not to mention the field was littered with future NFL talent on both squads.

LSU vs Auburn 2001 HIghlights

hours after the 97 Florida game. Sneaking in the stadium to get sod....getting caught by the 5-0.

The cops flushed us out into the second team. While the campus cop was questioning us, some drunkass comes running towards the gate saying "they're after me, they're after me". The cop who was questioning us says "watch this". He starts saying "come on man, I'll help you". So while the drunk guys squeezes under the gate, he starts saying, " I think we got away" and in mid sentence goes "ah fuuuck" when he notices that a cop is helping him squeeze under the gate.
