I was just curious as to how Miles was going to do it.

Like I said before...Nothing is official yet or even close. I can say there has been thoughts and talks, but there were the same last year and nothing happened. Miles #1 priority is to do everything he can to win football games. He's not sitting around spending all his time writing his speech to give to Crowton if that ends up happening. Just think realistically.

I'm sure when the time comes, he'll just send him a text or announce it on twitter or something........

Is there any chance Mike Leach would be our OC? Is he too much of a risky/weird guy to be paired with Miles?

Highly unlikely. And Miles getting fired is even less likely. I am not the greatest fan of Miles and have made that clear, but LSU's best option is for Miles to have an epiphany and finally "get it." He isn't going anywhere.

I agree.

I dont think he gets fired by any stretch. I just still think if Michigan offered him he would bolt.

Crowton's going to need an interpreter, or he'll never know he's fired.

No clue, Crowton is still the OC, and there are no plans in motion to hire someone else at the time.

I am with you and totally understand this sentiment. I have been consistent though in saying while I am not the biggest fan of Miles and think he has some serious limitations, he is not going anywhere and the best for LSU at this point is for Miles to grow as LSU's HC.

This is what I have been dealing with for the past couple of years with one notable exception, when I was unsure if he could survive another final moment debacle....but fans have got to realize this is what we have to work with.

Anybody would be happy at 3.75 MM a year. He'll never get more money than that anywhere. He has nowhere to go but down. This is his pinnacle.

I've heard people from your own Athletic Department call the guy a moron and say he is never going anywhere voluntarily. In fact, they claimed they may have to roll him over again after this year if he wins 9 or 10 and 9 or 10 next year because it would be difficult not to justify. I don't agree but that's what I was told....he gets an extension or he leaves voluntarily and the last one isn't happening ever from what I understand.

Do you people understand that winning 9 or 10 games a year is really good? If that's the case, you have to keep him. He could win th NC next year and 99% of the rant would want him gone if he only won 10 games the next year. Hell, who else would want to coach here knowing your subjected to that year in and year out.

Thanks, belowpar. Always great to hear from you. The best case scenario, I think, would be for Miles to hire a top-flight OC and let him do his job. Auburn isn't averaging over 500 ypg because of Gene Chizik, that's for sure. Chizik is a defensive coach that is being made to look like a genius because he is letting Malzahn do his thing. And, Auburn's defense isn't even any good (except against us )

Anyway, I know that Miles is not going anywhere right now, but do you think that there would be a chance that he might take a Colorado or Michigan offer, if it came? I know that you can't speak for certainty, but it seems like that things could change if the right jobs came open and they wanted him.

Thoughts?

Well that's what they claimed...you can never fire a coach who wins 9-10 consistently.

I just don't like the guy on a personal level and think he's an idiot. I know people who play Madden that would have more offensive success calling plays than him.

I understand that! But to do what he has done proves he knows what he's doing. Maybe he had a few concusions during his playing days.

JESUS CHRIST! You have got to be joking! A freaking video game! I used to kill it on NBA Jam, but I am 5' 9" and suck at basketball. How do you even know Les is calling the plays. I heard that was Crowton's job.

First off, I'm speaking from purely a scheme standpoint. I'm not talking about teaching a position. Sitting in a box and calling plays is in many ways a chess match, it's more strategy and scheme. Now, you can say well, you have to understand the limitations of your players and etc. to be an offensive coordinator, I agree...but the strategy they employ on offense is almost juvenile.

And yes, I'm fully confident that if you had to just call plays and not teach positions, somebody out there on a couch somewhere could do better than 113/118 in the nation. No fricking doubt, I'm sorry.
