I feel like he has got some power in that bat. The ball just jumps off of his bat. Makes a different sound coming off his bat. He lined out on either Friday or Saturday night, I can't remember which one, solid line drive to right field, but it just kept carrying, went out to the warning track. He's got some pop in that bat. Everyone is sleeping on Mahtook in this thread. He had a pretty darn good career at the plate while at LSU. Even as a freshman.

Mahtook was a great hitter but his strike out totals would probably leave him out of this category. If you were asking who's the most talented player at LSU in this time frame, he would probably be at the top of the list based on his insane athletic ability. When I think of "pure" hitters, I think of a Tony Gwynn type of hitter. I can't say Breg is at that level yet, but all early signs are pointing in that direction.
