That't the name of the German-style beer hall at the University of Wisconsin. That place was awesome.

It's also the name of the one at Tulane.

Sort of ironic, actually.

Technically the boxes and upper decks are not part of the stadium. They are separate structures allowing the university to sell alcohol there to their own discretion.

Used to be a bar in the basement of Hatcher Hall too, it served only beer. Spent more than one night crawling back up the stairs to my room. That was back in 1977.

I know the correct answer to this question.

It is in the architecture. The suites aren't connected to the rest of the stadium. They're mighty close, but they aren't connected.

I remember that place. I got to LSU in 1979. I think it closed within a year-or-two.

Do they sell beer in the Student Union, or elsewhere on campus? Seems like in the early 1980's they sold beer at the Union?

Yes, it was called the Tiger Lair (not to be confused w/the bar of the same name in Tigerland).

I THINK THE CORRECT ANSWER IS THE SUITES AND STADIUM CLUB ARE DESIGNATED AS PRIVATE CLUBS.

I've heard that the suites are built so that they aren't technically touching the stadium, therefore they are allowed to serve alcohol up there.

This is true on the East side suites. I have tickets up there and they told us they built the structure about an inch away from the actual stadium. Also, we pre-buy it in the bottles, they don't just serve us beer out of a tap or anything.

I remember was a drive thru store where you could buy draft beer and then drive off !!!!
I remember that. I think it was the Beer Barn or something like that. I also enjoyed the drive through daquiri factory whatever it's name was.

Also, the Tiger Lair was not popular at all. Back then, Murphy's and the Bayou were close enough. The only time I went to the Union Bar was when I needed a beer between classes. (Oh, those were the days.)

Every time I have a client fly in, they are amazed at the drive through liquor stores. This baffles them more than advanced trig to a 2nd grader.
