It says a lot

Yet you had people here defending him and arguing that he did a great job.

Our hitting coach is the new head coach at Utah Valley State and our pitching coach is now in the same role at Arkansas state.

Still think we were well coached?

Alan Dunn did a good job overall here. I'm not going to knock him. Arkansas State seems like a far fall but who knows? Maybe he saw a good situation there with their coaching staff and feels like it's a program on the rise that has a lot less pressure. Sometimes just being in a less-pressured situation for a while is a good move.

The LSU pitchers, the relievers especially, came on strong at the end of the season. Alan Dunn is no more responsible for arm injuries than are the parents of travel ball players.

He was a good pitching coach until 2017. After that the entire program became stale. He doesn’t deserve the hate he gets though. Some of his pitchers from LSU are some of the top pitchers in the MLB right now

Dont get why near retirement coaches feel like they HAVE TO get another job in this case.

Its like they have something to prove

Collegiate coaching is half knowledge/talent as a coach and half networking. Dunn never came across as a guy that cared much about networking.

No, I'm not. LSU has probably had the best record in the SEC for arm injuries for players not already injured prior to coming to LSU.

It will probably seem like semi retirement coaching there. Not all the stress of LSU expecting to go to the CWS every year. It might make it fun for him again.

This says it all. When Saints offensive coordinator Carl Smith finally lost his job no one wanted him. Same with Dunn.
