I agree Peterson should have covered Green all day.
Ever hear of a pick and roll? Peterson wouldn't have a chance if you never changed up.

Him and Jones help make up the best defensive backfield in the country
I am beginning to believe that. When you consider the lack of pass rush by LSU's front four, it is all the more impressive how well LSU's defense has been able to control the opposition's passing game. The reason has been very good coverage with the exception of a couple of blown assignments.

McCray had good coverage on Percy Harvin last year too.
Nobody is dogging Hawkins, and nobody is saying for certain that PP would have made a play either. The point is that you have do everything you can to elimante any possible advantage to your opponent's best, go-to player. Hawkins did what was asked of him, everyone applauds him for that. However, teams with losing records at the end of the season will be full of players that do that. Players that do more than that are what seperates great, championship-caliber teams from merely good ones. Playmakers; players that make spectactular plays, in the clutch, when the game hangs in the balance is what is needed. Peterson is that type of player. That is why no other CB was even considered to challange PP for his spot; he was going to be a starter no matter what. He is that good, and would only be off the field because of injury.
Hawkins on Green favors Green; PP on him is a push. Having PP on Green is simply a better matchup for us. He is taller, more physical, and has better ball skills than Hawkins. Saying PP is better at man coverage than Hawkins is not dogging him.
Football is a game of matchups as much as it is of technique, hustle, assignments, and determination.

AJ Green called our Secondary the best............
Secondary in the country on the CBS local postgame show
I think he just called Patrick Peterson the best cornerback in the nation, not the entire secondary.

The only question I have is why was Hawkins playing man to man on that key defensive possession?
I'd have to look at the replay, but I think that was zone coverage, and the safety help (Jones?) came late. Hawkins had perfect coverage - position, leap, two hands on the ball and shielded the WR from the ball - but he didn't catch the ball and Green just made the play - that's what great players do.

Coming from where the secondaryw as last season when we had the two retards calling the defense, I would say that's a huge improvement.

Comments like that are why I think Green is one of the best wr's in the country. Not only is he talented but he respects good appoints, and that makes me respect him.

Hawkins played him perfectly on that play. Nobody could have had better coverage on that play he just did not jump soon enough and Aj Green grabbed him from behind when he was getting ready to jump and made a catch that only he makes. Great effort by Green. Hawkins needs to work on his ball skills but the coverage was perfect.

looked like 2 deep with man under. credit Cox for holding Chad by eyeing the guy running up the seam.

all he had to do was extend his arms all the way up and he wouldve broken the pass up.

Chief and Cooper are getting this group up to playing better ball.

Hawkins had great coverage on Green in that play. Green is just a freak.
green jumped first and that prevented Hawkins from gettin up, and when Hawkins tried to jumped it kinda held green up even longer. It was a solid play be green, but hawkins had him covered tight. Most other recievers in the country wouldn't have had a catch there

And whoever said Hawkins has him well covered was right, but it was a clear mismatch and PP should have been on him especially in that situation
Hawkins is underrated and no way is that a mismatch .... he got held down...i mean, shite :
i'm pretty sure he is big enough, and talented enough
