I get static for criticizing the O-line. lol. They are not getting "it" done. As I said, we will understand them better after Saturday.

Davis is Pittman's No.1 protege. From his mouth, not my opinion. You'll probably get the same coaching style, without the ability to get the recruits. Seems like advantage Davis.
Davis isn't going anywhere. We need better RB play, better running game schematics, and yes better OL play. Collectively.
I am not a fan of the zone running scheme. Not at the NFL level, not at the college level. You need special running backs to make it work as intended. Not many special RBs in today's game.

quote:I think you see Kelly involved. He always ran the ball well at previous stops if I’m recalling correctly. He won’t move or fire coaches mid season, that would make it tough to attract the Bakers and Raymond’s if the world later.
Don’t we have an analyst on staff who understands what’s going on? Can they go outside of the organisation to get some help mid season? Find an individual who’s qualified, send him some film, and be open to suggestions.
The three point stance intro was just the start. And Durham does lack a little vision. Although I think he is our best back, you have seen better vision from Berry and Johnson.
I don’t think our line is better than ok, but this is 16 games of this.

But oline and TEs are supposed to be Kelly’s speciality.
What? He is a defensive coach . You realize you can look this shite up right?

At Notre Dame, Brian Kelly was particularly known for strong development and recruiting in the following position groups:
1. Offensive Line Most notable group under Kelly – consistently dominant and well-coached. Produced multiple first-round NFL draft picks, including: Quenton Nelson Zack Martin Mike McGlinchey Ronnie Stanley Often considered "O-Line U" during his tenure. Coaches like Harry Hiestand (OL coach for much of Kelly’s tenure) played a big role here.
2. Tight Ends Another consistently strong position group. Produced elite NFL talent such as: Kyle Rudolph Tyler Eifert Cole Kmet Tommy Tremble Notre Dame earned a reputation as “Tight End U” alongside schools like Stanford and Miami.

I don't know a single thing about offensive line blocking technique or offensive line coaching.
But I know I can watch LSU play football and I'm on season 2 of being able to stand with strangers and make jokes about knowing that inside zone is the next running play and then it happens.
We run two running plays from two formations.
I think Joe Sloan is a QB guru who doesn't know how to create a running game to compliment his passing attack that has any coherence or plan to keep a defense off-balance and to attack them in a dynamic way.
I think Brad Davis is probably not the best O-Line coach for technique, but I think that is vastly outpaced by the reality that our running plays seem tacked on by a guy who doesn't do running plays.

What is this Carter guy's background that so many seem smitten with him and hold is analysis in such high regard?

Its the offensive design(Brian kelly or Joe sloan) it's not Brad Davis fault

This is false but you knew that when you typed it.

We got some of the highest rated passs blockers in the sec. We need to stop trying to be something we aint. We are constantly killing drives trying to run the football. We have to pass to set up the run. Is what it is.

Carter THE POWER Bryant
Posted on 9/24/25 at 11:18 am to Gdellinger
Its hard to understand
I think I saw someone actually turn and chase the DL that got by him. As a lineman all my life, that is just about rule number 1 in pass blocking. Their discipline is very weak
Why on Earth would you play a starter with a high ankle sprain vs southeastern ?

Go back and use a traditional fullback or use an H-back out of the backfield

he RBs aren't hitting the right hole/alley, then the O-line will look bad. Commentators showed
The worst thing that could have ever happened was the broadcast showing a missed hole by Durham. That's all the ammo the retard brigade needed to jump into that narrative and never stop repeating it. How many times have we had threads saying the RBs missed a hole before it was pointed out?

Carter is on the most well respected former LSU student media proteges in the modern era of LSU sports. His platform has taken off since he's left LSU and has gained the respect by me and other media members that attend LSU athletics.

Its the ranter way. They have absolutely no clue what they are talking about, but they want to feel like they do, so they find somebody who says what they are saying and latch on to them. Exact same way they shite all over someone who says the opposite. Josh Pate is a perfect example. He was great according to this board, but now he doesnt have LSU where they want, so he's now clueless to the same people.

I'm pretty confident in saying Josh Pate has never stepped foot in Tiger Stadium
