I think we'll see a huge media and fan backlash against Alabama for being in the game. I think many folks will realize that Alabama didn't deserve to be in the title game since they were beat at home by LSU.

I'm hoping that the national media starts picking on Alabama and Nick Saban for ruining the BCS title game.

Who are these 'backless' you speak of? Can you have a front without a back?

I think we'll see a huge voter backlash against Alabama for not playing in the SEC title game if OSU beats Oklahoma. No way OSU won't pass Alabama if that happens.

2011 Alabama will forever be considered a colossal mistake similar to 2001 Nebraska and 2003 Oklahoma.

That is how college football fans will view that team.

Turns out the SEC championship game was pointless.

backlash won't exist, LSU will be champions and the media will be right back on Bama's nuts for the 2012 season.

Not with USC's probation ending (or at least the post-season ban ending).

If you people think that they jerked off Bama, wait until you get a load of Mussberger.

And November 5th was pointless as well.

Think about the logic involved. LSU has to beat Bama TWICE to be the BCS champion. Bama only has to do it once. That is absolutely insane. I am not saying OSU is the better team. But having to beat the same team twice is ridiculous.

And in regards to the OP, if LSU beats Bama and OSU wins their bowl game, then I think there will be a huge media backlash about OSU not getting a chance to play LSU. Count on it. They thrive on this stuff.

Depends a great deal on how OSU does against Stanford. If they blow them off them field it will considerably more than if OSU losses the game.

There is already a backlash, but it's mostly against the SEC in general, not just Alabama.

If LSU and Oklahoma State both win convincingly, expect a lot of "We told you so's!" from other conferences.

if osu wins big there could very well be a split title win the winner of the nc game.

Also, i almost feel like saban's reputation is on the line. This makes me nervous for the simple reason that bama and the rec will do whatever it takes to win.

fortunatley we are in the superdome.

Its not their fault. They didn't decide on who belongs in the game.

There will be no media backlash, but the fans will never let Bama live it down.

On top of this I think the gumps are headed for a down turn in their ability to compete against LSU for several years ahead and Saban leaves in two yrs.

Not in Bama fan's mind. They believe that they have to beat us twice. They already won on Nov. 5th. It is totally unfair that they have to do it again.

Respectfully disagree. They mounted an all day "whine-a-thon" on ESPN while LSU and OSU were playing football for conference championships.

The razor thin margin between #2 and #3 proves it was an effective strategy.
