our D has improved. the tackling has gotten better and the overall philosophy has changed. we're not playing nearly as soft now, and 3rd and chavis isn't something we see every 3rd and long. our LBs are still weak and the DL isn't top notch

jasper is pretty BTFA so far

helton has improved and gets air under long kicks now, compared to 30 yard punts with little air

our OL sucks. interior can't push the pile. black is mailing it in. neither OT is holding up in pass protection

lafell and tolliver are ready and waiting. they will drop a couple balls a game combined, but they're studs

JJ isn't there yet. we're throwing 3-4 offenses at him, and we have no rhythm or overall philsophy. his deep ball is not close to being remotely reliable. he is showing to have improved as a runner, and will step up against the rush to get positive yards

scott and keiland are scott and keiland

at some point soon, crowton/miles are going to have to decide on who we are on offense. if they make the right choice, and make the right calls, we should put up a lot of points. the wrong choice can lead to more vandy/ULL games

MSU has shown a good D (did better against vandy than we did). this is a game on the road also, and once they get those cowbells ringing it should be a hyped atmosphere. i think MSU will be a test, for better or worse. it's good that we're getting a road SEC game before UGA. looking ahead, UGA will get a game where both coaches have to realized they can score on the other team. the first coach to realize this will likely win. UF looked mortal this week, but this may be their Ole Miss 2008 game, so it's hard to predict that game until both teams play more. as of now, i'm worried

The only thing I've been a bit shocked about is the OL play. They lost a few guys but I still thought when Ciron came back that they'd dominate.

That being said I think you win against MSU by about 20.

No problem, according to most ranters, Crowton is holding him back from reaching full potential for better competition

i am not a JJ hater in any way. i think crowton/les are just trying every possible offense we have to see what is working

ULL was more like one of those games where it was like when you get the new madden and try different plays to see what works on the new game. we forced a lot of deep balls. we didn't use the option. we just tried a lot of different looks

i hope that at some point one of these offenses becomes our main offense so we can grow around it

I was extremely excited about him before the season, but I have not been very impressed so far. I hope things start to click and he ends up playing like I expected.

He has had some accuracy issues but at least he's not hitting the other team.

the reason we havent find our identity on offense yet is because the OL.

if our OL could block like it has the past two years, we would be running the same offense as the past two years.

i think les and co realized going into the season that our OL would not be as good as it as been, hence the new looks.

If that's the best thing we can say then we may be in trouble.

Well the team has so much talent that minimizing the turnovers is huge. Obviously he has to pick up his game a bit but if he can stop from turning the ball over LSU is going to be fine.

i agree with your first post. I think we have enough talent to coast to 8 wins. bama,uf,uga and ole miss we cant coast with. i see 8-4 as a failure if we lose all 4 big games.

I agree with this, and at the same time, think that waiting until after you play 3 games to decide on your offensive identity is perfectly acceptable.

If we put him in the backfield with Holliday and run the QB read I don't see how we can't get easy yards.
