JL, JJ, ZL, SR...whoever the QB is or will be, one thing is apparent to me...LSU needs a dedicated QB coach or a new offensive coordinator that can develope QBs.

I was never a big fan of the offensive schemes of Jimbo, but I always had respect for his developement of QBs. His current QB at FSU is more evidence of this fact.

It isn't the five wide set that people make a big deal about.

It's a five wide set and a crossing route call with a QB with a propensity to throw into coverage under pressure on the first play of game against a ranked opponent when you have a prolific running game.

This, that playcall with the running game we had that year was mindboggling.

At least three interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns (Georgia and Tulane), were thrown well short of the route because Lee threw off his back foot instead of stepping into the throw.

That's mechanics, brother.

Mechanics and the fear of contact IMHO.

The three I'm referencing didn't have heavy pressure.

But that's his other major mental issue.

If I had to guess, they were probably trying to get him confidence early in the game with some simple short routes, it was a gamble, it didn't work. But it wasn't something so stupidly obvious that needs to be berated all the time.

The amazing thing about the UGA game if I recall was that Lee ended up with more passing yards than Stafford in the game...

Yea we torched UGA in that game. If only we didn't have the damn INTs!

If only our defense could stop somebody, that was the problem. Having Lee throwing the ball some 40 odd times was just asking for a mistake. Really nothing anyone could do. It was our only way to come back.

Yeah, but more than half of Lee's yards came in the 4th quarter after UGA was leading 45-24.

Going into the 4th:

Lee was 6/12 for 127 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs

Stafford was 16/24 for 216 yards, 2 TDs, no INTs.

No we didn't.

We torched UGA in the 4th quarter after they were up 21 points and were playing prevent.

I agree...I think he has the physical tools to be an NFL QB. However, if you don't have the proper mental approach, it is all for not. I also think that Lee is scared of physical contact. I think that is why he rushes throws and seems so nervous.

I agree too. He seems to play scared and defenses smell it. QB has to be confident when he looks across the line of scrimmage. PLUS he should not have to run that "check with me" sidelines bullshite

I think you guys are making too much of the way he phrased, or was quoted, in the statement about it bein in his head.

If you read the whole article, it seems he was saying that he knows that this is an area that he has room for improvement (i know, to say the least), and that he is focused and ambitious about changing that by working hard in reviewing the film and adjusting his approach, both physically and mentally.

I love how he says he is staying because he believes he has some good moments in his future at LSU, and I beleive that also.

We needed both RP and Flynn to win the 2007 NC, and it is not far-fetched to believe that a JJ starting-JLee-complementing formula could prove very valuable in 2010 and 2011.

That also doesn't factor in that Hatch played some in the third quarter. When Lee was in, someone scored, either us or them haha!

This is a dumb argument though. We got whooped, that's all that matters.
