What nobody seems to recognize is the strength of schedule difference. LSU has played a far superior level of opponent thus far in 2011...
Yeah, because this hasn't been mentioned eleventy

One of these so called experts said Alabama clearly had the better defense because they give less yards and points per game. Then when asked which CFB team has the best Offense the same guy says without question it's Oregon.

Great read, thanks for the link.

"Expert" Brad Edwards, in his espn power ranking poll, placed LSU at 1 and Bama at 2 after week 8...then switched them at week 9 to Bama 1 and LSU 2.
Bama must have practiced harder during the bye week.

The funny thing about most of the ESPN "experts"...if they were that good at what they did, they'd still be playing / coaching.

It is without a doubt going to be a great game but the reality is the difference in toughness of each schools schedule. But to me the real issue with all this is the level of growth the Tigers have been forced to rise too and this is what I think is the big difference.
I am not taking anything away from you guys, I am simply saying your team, as good as it may be, is not tuned to its full potential as a result of the level of teams it has played.
This is not meant to be a trash or flame comment just what I think the result of the outcome of the difference in the schedules.
LSU is truly tuned up and ready, Bama has not had to rise to the same level of play to beat their opponents.
DennyChimes10 I must say that everyone in the SEC agrees Boise has no place in the NC game even though they may be 12-0, simply because of the STRENGTH of their schedule. I am applying the same logic to this game.

This.
If a talking head wants to say the teams are equally as talented, and then pick Bama 'cause the games in Tuscaloosa, I've got no problem with that.
But when these teams are discected, and pitted against each other on paper, no other conclusion could be reached other than LSU wins the game.
LSU has DOMINATED some really good teams. Hell, Oregon is trying to work their way back into the the title picture. We beat the shite out of that team.
LSU/Bama have earily similar stats, yet LSU has played a much tougher schedule.

LB vs. LB size is really a non-starter. They don't face each other.
LB vs. RBs? Talk to me, that's relevant. But the idea that the UA LBs are bigger than the LSU LBs, as a comparison...well, that's ignorant.

And they did the same thing last year...

It's amazing how uneducated those guys are about LSU. You could tell most of them already made up their mind bama was better and arranged their argument to suit that. Im convinced none of them have seen 1 LSU game all year. That panel was a cluster of stupidity.

Matt Millen readily admitted that he doesn't know much about LSU this year.
