I thought Lee looked pretty good other than the obligatory pick 6. It was disheartening to see how poorly JJ played - coaching may be part of it, but it seemed like he couldn't make reads, or just gave up. The D and the running backs looked good, though. I'm optimistic the team will be better than last year still, but the QB situation is troubling. KC.

Even though it was a spring game, both qbs looked like a one legged man in a arse kicking contest.

Those of you thinking JL looked "good" are hallucinating.

Half his passes looked like ducks and he threw his familiar pick six because he tried to ram a ball in where it didn't belong and couldn't make an elementary read.

That being said, JJ looked like crap also.

And for the Chris-Garrett-As-Savior types, he looked just what he was supposed to look like: an inexperienced RS freshman.

For the sake of argument, let's just go by the spring game.

No way JL should qb this team. It's amazing how people can now minimize a shitload of pick sixes and say "no big deal."

JJ is at least physically mobile AND he's already proven he can be adequate to good over the course of a long season--something JL hasn't done.

But bottom line: this thread title is right on. "Abysmal" is the proper adjective for our qb situation--at least for a team with hopes of competing for an SEC or a National championship.

orly?

2009-NCAA Offensive Rank #112
2008-NCAA Offensive Rank #51

Yeah, Lee had a lot of throws to the other team, but he was also dealing with bad play calling and his #2 WR that had mailed in the season. And by all accounts, JJ looked worse yesterday than last season. Physically mobile? Meh. Mostly that is used to fade further and further back into the pocket until he is sacked. Lee at least shows some flashes of having QB skills, still waiting to see it from JJ.

They have been posted plenty-I'll be sure an include the 37 sacks he took while he mulled over what to do when his first read hadn't separated from his defender by at least 5 yards.

In reference to our coaching situation.

To continue to have large question marks at key positions going into yet another season is a reflection of how piss poor this staff has been in developing players.

Wow. Somebody with some sense! Gee, you mean there is actually a REASON that Jefferson and Lee aren't improving? If ony everyone else here could grasp that.

how did the offense do in the 2 games JJ played in 2008? It was a different team

It was a spring game, I'm not sure why yall are playing it up so much. Let me repeat, it was the SPRING GAME. The regular scrimmages are more important.

I still believe in JJ but if he does not improve I believe JL should start and if Miles does start him we should pull a Bama and run the shite out of the ball and pass rarely to minimize his mistakes.

Jefferson and Lee have one thing in common...Crowton.

Miles should have launched him. He will lose his job because he didn't.
