Guarantee a winning record in the SECT. Saturday switches back to single elimination, so today's winner is assured of going at worst 3-1.

This is good for giving our young guys reps on the mound before the regional. I’d really like to see Anderson and Cam Johnson step up and provide some middle relief at some point.

Losses don't matter in tournament play(for the committee) as everyone loses two or one but the champion. It's how many wins and the quality.

Yeah, frick all the defeatist talk. I want to win this tournament for a lot of reasons.
1. It’s another piece of hardware to bring home. That’s never bad.
2. It signifies beating the best field in the country. We won’t face teams this good again short of Omaha.
3. I want to go to someone’s regional as the hottest 2 seed in the nation. I want us to strike terror into the hearts of whomever’s hosting.

it sets up nicely for the pitching. our friday/saturday guys will now have 11 days rest after getting good work done this week and allows us to have relief pitchers step up against regional opponents and still have plenty of time off before they appear again.
let's keep the bats going as well and get everyone out of a slump. cough cough bingham
ETA: the top 4 seeds all sandbagging yesterday to avoid throwing starters kinda fricked themselves because now their starters throw with less days of rest going into next week. hate to see it

He’s been a disappointment.
I knew coming in that he wouldn’t replicate his PAC-12 numbers. That would’ve been unrealistic. There was always gonna be a dropoff.
I wasn’t, however, expecting a 100 point dropoff.

I think that’s what Saturday or tomorrow’s game will be. Go with Hurd little ack win today and then Saturday use everyone left an inning or so to get their feet wet.
