Looks like you missed the changes that happened in college football the last 100 years and can't take things in a context. Yale's 26 of the 27 claimed National champions came between between 1872 and 1909...with just 8 teams that fielded intercollegiate teams (growing to 43 by 1900).
Win 3 in a decade (let alone in a row)...it is still great history!
