A Tale of Two Seasons

Am I the only one who thinks this year could really go either way?
The worst case:
We get stunned by App. State. We can't move the ball because of our inept young QBs and Armanti Edwards scorches us with his legs. We drop out of the Top 25 after one game.
We bounce back and get wins over Troy and over North Texas, but we are hobbling into Auburn without a trusted starter. Once again, our offense looks inept and Kodi Burns torches our D. We stand at 2-2.
We come back home and defeat a somewhat talented Miss State team but then we head off to Florida KNOWING we will lose, which of course happens. The next week we walk into Spurrier's house, and he burns our unconfident secondary. Next up? Georgia. The surging Dawgs are in the middle of a MNC run, and Miles has already lost this team. We get toasted at home and we are 3-5.
We regain a little confidence by killing Tulane at home, but then Nick Saban comes to town and his defensive schemes are just too much for our poor crappy QBs. We are 4-6.
We pull out a season saving victory over Ole Miss before stomping a depleted Arkansas team. We end up 6-6 and barely make the Independence Bowl, where we meet the vaunted Purdue Boilermakers and win (barely), finishing 7-6 and unranked.
The best case:
We rip App State a new one. All THREE QBs look great and each displays unique abilities. The faster defense shuts down Edwards. We go on to cream Troy and North Texas, starting the season 3-0 and entering the Auburn game with a lot of confidence.
We start the Auburn game with Hatch, but the smart and speedy D of Auburn proves too much for him. Next up is Lee, but Auburn just pins their ears back and plays pass. Fortunately our defense keeps the game close setting up a 4th quarter comeback led by Jordan Jefferson, who beats Auburn with his arm and feet in a JR-like game winning drive.
JJ starts the Miss State game and tears them apart. We are 5-0 going into Florida.
The Florida D unnerves JJ in the Swamp. We go to Hatch, who is the most calm under pressure. He gives a great effort but we fall short. We're 5-1.
We bounce back with Hatch as the starter against S Carolina, improving to 6-1 and regaining our confidence before coming home to face Georgia.
Georgia's speedy D is too much for Hatch, and LSU ends up pulling out another one in the 4th, this time behind the arm of Lee. Lee hits D. Byrd for the game winner to cap off a drive that reminds a lot of people of the Mauck-led drive in 2003 that beat the Dawgs. We are 7-1.
We rest the starters against Tulane and JJ gets his first official start. He does fine and we roll the Wave. Next up Alabama. Lee gets the start and the Tiger's offense begins to roll. We down the Tide to move to 9-1, then smoke Ole Miss and Arkansas and earn a rematch against FLorida in the SEC CCG. We stand at 11-1.
The CCG is on neutral ground, not the Swamp, and LSU's QBs have matured a great deal since October. Lee gets the start but is injured in the 2nd quarter. Hatch comes on first but proves ineffective, leaving JJ to come on a lead the surging offense to victory, exacting revenge over Florida. We're 12-1 and headed to the MNC game against USC.
JJ gets the start because JL is hurt. We mix up our offense nicely, keeping USC guessing and staying in control of the game from the beginning. Chad Jones mans up on Joe McKnight and takes him out of the game. JJ is voted MVP. LSU repeats as MNC, going 13-1. The prospects of a TRUE 3-peat are looking good.

I'm thinking more of a middle - great season sounds about right. Can you give me the rundown of how that might play out?
Have you been working on that all morning?

Alright, here's the abridged version:
WORST CASE:
We lose to App State, enter the Auburn game with little to no confidence and no idea who our best QB is and we lose that game. We then go on a 3 game slide losing to Florida, South Carolina, and Georgia. If that weren't bad enough we lose to Alabama. We squeeze out a winning record and barely go to a bowl.
BEST CASE:
We come together nicely in the beginning of the year. We pull out a victory at Auburn. Despite a loss to Florida in the Swamp we find a way to win the rest setting up a rematch in the CCG, which we win. We go to the BCS NCG again and win.

I've been thinking about it for quite some time
I think we lose 2 or 3 and go to the Cap One Bowl or something like that.

I love how people will swim through 13 pages of worthless dialogue on what makes one a cajun or how much should we hate nick saban or how ugly are usc's uniforms...
But the moment somebody puts an interesting post that is more than three lines, somebody squawks, "It's TOO LONG!!! How in blue blazes am I supposed read AND understand ALL THAT?!?!"
just sayin...

I think we beat South Carolina. I think we've got too much, but Spurrier always scares me. I think we beat either Florida or Georgia, but I don't think we win all three. That's when we find out what we're made of.
That is going a to be a few weeks of heartburn and high blood pressure for sure.

This is awesome! I was on the edge of my seat reading the best case. Can you tell me how many yards Murphy had in the Troy game?

What kind of a season does Patrick Peterson have?
And I'm just kidding with you, I actually thought it was very entertaining. You have a very detailed imagination.

I don't want to read the entire story of why they will or why they won't. I think that if our new QB can throw a straight ball(where other teams can't put 8 in the box) + If our defense can be as good as I think it can be = Sky is the limit

quote:Neither one will happen. Your Doomsday scenario is too negative, and your pie in the sky scenario is too positive. We will only lose a couple of games, but there will be NO SECC or MNC this year, period. People should just get it out of their heads early and they will enjoy the season much better when it rolls around.

I thought blasphemy wasn't allowed on this site!
I say we win every single game by a field goal, including the MNC!
